Ford Fiesta P 1.4 ZXI -> 3500 Kms

My Paprika Red Ford Fiesta 1.4 ZXI Petrol is now 4 months old and has done around 3500 Kms...In a very simple term, I'd say the car is fantastic...Many people in the forum are against fiesta and ford in general
but I can say it is all myths they are talking about...

I owned a maruti alto LX for 2.5 years and now this is my second car...

Although people may think 1.4 L is underpowered it is not so...with 5 people+1child and with AC on, I never feel any loss of power at all...

The driving position with the seat adjustment seats is extremely comfortable and the engine is totally noiseless...

Have done first two free services and money spent on service until now
is zero as only in the third service they'll change the oil, etc.,

The build is really good and after closing the Fiesta's door and getting
accustomed to it, once when I closed the SX4's door, I felt like closing
a door made of tin...

People in India are carried away by other's opinion rather than their own
decision...I personally feel that is the reason for the over priced Honda
city and poorly built SX4 selling like hot cakes...

Reg A.S.S when you want more from a car, you have to spend more...There is nothing wrong in it...

There is no rattles until now and I never want to get out of the car
and want to drive it on and on and on...

Finally the car gives about 11-12.5 Kms/L in heavy city traffic and about
18 Kms/L in Highways with 60% AC...

good review. A friend of mine owns a diesel fiesta. My dad is an automobile engineer and both of them are big fans of fiesta.

I drove the diesel fiesta and I also felt the comfort level was more than NHC. esp. its seating postion and the feeling of solid build. However legroom was an issue for me (i am 185 cms) and getting in and out of car. Never faced that in a city (which I own).

I accept with tanmay about the easy getting in and out and the better back seats in NHC...But tanmay is very much bigger than a normal indian and so when normal sized indians(95%) could not blame on the little lesser legspace unless they feel it is ok to pay more 1.5L for the same...

I have a ford fiesta diesel, just done 2300 km, and it drives real fantastic. great seat comfort, driving position. In fact at the back, you would not hear the diesel engine at all. Mileage is excellent. Driving on curvy roads is a real good experience. Some how, there is this bad impression about Ford. I too was of this opinion and never even bothered to check out the Ford. Just by chance, that i passed through Cauvery Ford in bangalore, and decided to drive it. Reall in love with the car. Amazing !!!

The Fiesta is a fantastic sedan, fun to drive too! The 1.4 has pretty decent grunt for the city. You really don't need to justify your choice with comments on word-of-mouth value in India, overpriced Hondas and the like.

Enjoy your drives.

Nice and short review.
Great to know that you are enjoying your car. I am also looking forward to Fiesta Diesel in the near future.

congrats on your fiesta ! btw...your mileage figures seem way below average. you should get your highway figures in the city itself ! i get 16-17kmph with 100% ac in my fusion with the same engine. and the fusion is 60kgs heavier.

Good review. Fiesta is nice car. Although many people have some dislike over Ford and their cars and particularly their service, but I vouch for Ford cars. I own a Ikon tough.

You have a diesel Fusion & he has a Petrol Fiesta so the engines cannot be the same - I think his mileage figures are fine, perhaps you are mixing it up with the Fiesta TDCI

srini / dhiramos : you guys have a taken the right choice - Your own choice, rather than relying on others / review / word of mouth, etc!

there is no more pleasure than making a decision and then knowing that it was the best one to make!

i am looking for an upgrade, had Fiesta in mind but now the 2.2 beast is making good headway. My view on Fiesta is taking a beating because of too many bad review about A.S.S and other services with regard to that. Hope I end up making a smart decision as you guys!

happy riding guys!

I own a Fiesta Petrol.Run 4000 kms, just finished the 3rd service.Ford vehicles are excellent, the one thing that doesn't show them in the good light are the service & customer service.I had a couple of issues, but then when you're driving a great car you can forgive those issues, right?
I drive 95% in the city, with the a/c on almost all the time and I get 11-12 kmpl.I use Shell Super Unleaded.
I just wanna drive and keep driving when I'm in my Ford, its my lil world-far away from the maddenning crowd and the potholes filled with tar.
Just love it!
