Congrats on the buy, I've booked a SDX myself.
However when I'd gone for a TD to Concorde, near Christ College, the Sales guy was offering me a a discount of 45k, that too without any bargaining. Basically I was bargaining for discounts/freebies on the SDX, which Concorde just wouldn't offer any on. Sales guy however offered a discount of 45k on the 1.6 (if I'd choose that over the SDX) without me even asking for it.

Did you check with Prerna? I'm getting Llumar Sunfilm, Teflon coating & Autocop along with the other accessories like mud flaps, floor & boot mats, perfume & idol. Prerna offered the best deal, however I approached through a friend who had recently purchased a Safari from them.

Congrats...its so good to hear Palio 1.6 getting out on the roads!

Same here...cash discounts of 42000 and 10K for finance payout are what they offerring!

Can you confirm, if the car is coming with the Leather steering wheel and Gear knob and also the rear reflectors comes in yellow or white now?

Great, Congrats

Viper, Congrats. Welcome to 1.6 club. These days i am finding lots of reviews for Palio and cars on road as well.

Well how come 4.92 L after so much of discounts ? Is the initial price increased now or is it costlier in Bangalore. I got my 1.6 for 4.58L on road after 26K discount.

@rudrah : Yes we do get leather gear knob and sterring wheel in 1.6 now.

Thanks for the update, Pankaj!

Yeah the initial prices have now increased as per the excise duty hike and also the Ex showroom prices from district to district and statewise too!

But the discounts that they are offering are quite good than before...its a tempting BUY time for Palio enthusiatics

The recently levied additional duty over 1500cc engines has also contributed to the increase in price.

Friends,
The baby was finally delivered on 19th July Sat at 5 pm. I took the delivery from the Manipal motors service station on ORR as it's closer to home.
Car was delivered spic'n'span. All paper work was kept ready. The foreman explained all the basics of the car. I checked the car as per the PDI threads on the forum and this helped as the foreman realized that this guys knows his cars!

The odo read 37kms which looked fair. The dealer gave about 10L of petrol and all fluid levels were checked. The car came with the usual Ganesh idol, car perfume and a box of chocolates - I refused the ribbon decorations as from previous experience the cello-tape glue is a pain to remove from the car body.

I rushed home to show the car to the family and the customary 'tilak' on the car and thereafter set off for ICEing the car to Motor Tracks on JC road.
Setup: Pio 5050, JBL GTO607C 6-1/2" components on the front and JBL GTO937 6X9's in the rear. The OE tray was replaced by a MDF box type tray.
I also got autocop and a wide IRVM installed.
the brush metallic finish on the JBL's are a perfect match with the metal finish facia of the dashboard.

I've often driven my brother-in-laws palio 1.2 earlier and am well versed with feeling of driving a Palio. But the 1.6 sure sounds good!

I logged up another 60kms on the weekend and it felt great driving around.

Pics (phone quality) are posted below. I'll update the thread at 500kms and then at 1000kms with my impressions and experience.
