We had less than a week to buy another car as the Santro which we owned previously was sold and I had requested the new owner to give me a week's time to decide and buy another car.
We had more or less narrowed our decision to purchase an Accent as my wife who is the end user liked it a lot as compared to other cars we had seen. I had spoken with both Advaith Hyundai and Trident Hyundai, but at Trident Hyundai we were offered a better deal and we were more comfortable dealing with them as we had purchased our Santro also from them.
The price quoted was 5.87 lakhs on road for the GLE version, so after the loyalty bonus and corporate discount (not offered by Advaith) the price came down to 5.72 Lakhs on road.
The freebies offered were:
Panasonic Mp3 player with 4 speakers
Hyundai Autocops remote central locking
Sunfilm
All mats and mudflaps
I paid a booking amount of 2.5 lakhs and was promised delivery of a black car after 2 days.
The very next day I get a call from the sales exec in the evening telling me the car is ready and will be delivered as promised first thing in the morning.
On saturday 13th Sep 2008, I took a Meru cab picked my wife up from my inlaws place and reached Trident at about 11 am. We paid up the balance amount and in the meantime I kept getting calls from Advaith Hyundai asking me to reconsider and that they too were willing to offer me the same deal which they had initially refused.
Then we were asked to step out and check out the car.

It is always a nice feeling when you look at the car you are buying for the first time, it was no different this time too. The features of the car were explained and the keys were ceremoniously handed over, one girl from Customer care came out with a tray containing puja items and a cursory puja was performed. Right then my good friend and fellow Tbhp
member Nevertouchme reached the showroom as I had invited him to spend the day with us.
Took the car for an initial drive along with the sales executive, then dropped her back and then headed out to Whitefield as I had some business to attend to. By the time I was done with work and a late lunch it was already 5 pm and we were supposed to reach home to pick my mom and go to Ragigudda Temple in Jayanagar for puja.
The puja for all our vehicles over the past 15 years has been performed at this temple only. The puja for the car is performed only after the main temple closes by 8.30 or 9 pm as the priests need to come down from the hillock to perform vehicle pujas. They perform puja with lot of devotion for over 20 minutes irrespective of the number of vehicles present.
Jaiganesh (Nevertouchme)took some snaps during the puja.

Post Puja, it was 'pet' puja time, we decided to check out food street near Sajjan rao circle. It is an amazing place with lip smacking delicacies, and is open till 11.30 pm on weekends.
Had some nice food and the dropped Nevertouchme at his PG in BTM layout and headed home.
First day, the kilometres covered was around 125 kms.
And the very next day we had the Photo meet at Hesarghatta, where the new addition was photographed extensively.
Will post on performance as time progresses.
Regards,
Hari.
