Got my Indica Vista TDI Aqua - Solar Orange

Hi Guys,
I got my Indica Vista TDI Aqua - solar orange colour yesterday.
(Pics below)

Regarding my driving experience so far with it:

The Noise levels are still high and it feels like a tata diesel although no vibration whatsoever.Driving in the city traffic is good enough inspite of the turbo lag and once the turbo kicks in at 2000 rpm the push is wonderfull,
Although during run in you cant go too much beyond 2000 rpm as it would it the speed limit for the particular gear.
Frankly I like started liking the diesel sound and best thing about this car is the commanding seat position. I have been driving the zen for the last 4 years and what a drastic change, with the zen I used feel as if I am crawling on the road and in the vista, even when i went past a scorpio I felt I could make eye contact with the scorpio driver.
Combining this commanding seat position and the diesel noise, I felt like I was in a jeep ! ( I always wanted to have a jeep).

Gear shifting is quite hard compared to the zen but i can get used to it.
The central instrument panel will take a little time getting used to especially in the night because I was so used to see the lit up instrument cluster in front of my eyes, Yesterday night atleast a couple of times I wondered whether the lights are on

With my credit card outstanding already at 2 lacs I decided to go for only the mats and mudflaps and the remote keyless entry. My zen had the autocop so just cant do without it.

I can live without the sun film, seat covers and the music system for couple of months.

The only thing that I miss in this car compared to my zen is the window height. In the Zen my right hand elbow would always rest on the window pane with the glass lowered but I cant do that in the vista because of the height.

I only wish Tata had shaped this car like the Ford fusion and it would have sold like hot cakes. The vista feels like a mini SUV from inside and while driving . Yesterday night I even dreamt that I am going to take the spare wheel and fit it on the back just like the safari

Ah. That is the second new ownership report posted today. (Ok this is the first, and the other one is 2nd). So looks like the vista deliveries have started in bulk.

Have a nice user experience; and do keep us updated. Please get rid of those plastic seat covers.

Have a nice time!!!

hey revhappy, congratulations.
I really like the color. About that dream of yours, let it be just that - a dream.
Shes looking hot anyways. Let the spare stay where it belongs, in the boot.

Rev her happily!!!
(After the run-in though)

CONGRATS on the new buy revhappy. Imagined the Spare wheel and that will be quite interesting with a good cover though. May be with some smart looking roof carriage ( I think I used the right name here ).

Congrats man. The color is very nice.

Yes, seems Vista has started to get on the roads.

I just saw around 3 to 4 Vista yesterday. Happen to peep in to one of the vista and it was really good to see the quality of plastics. Its much much better than those Indicas in my opinion. I did see some panel gaps but thats ok.

The one I saw was the Aura, Quadrajet. Real VFM. Enjoy & happy reving.!!!

Congratulations for the first Solar Orange TDi Vista on the forum~

Any reasons why you opted for a TDi engine and not QJD?

@rudrah: It costed me 4.57 lacs on road. I would have loved to buy the Quadrajet but for me 4.57 itself was a stretch, the QJD aqua is 5.25 thats another good 70k more which was well beyond my budget, hence had to compromise, I dont mind the noise of the TDI but will miss the wonderfull drivability of the QJD in the city I guess. On the highway I think the TDi with its turbo will keep me happy
