Hi team,
Finaly after driving Indica Vista, Ford IKON and Ford Fiesta , i made up my mind to buy Hyudai Accent Gle(EXECUTIVE).
As you guys know, i have been driving a diesel car9(Fiat Palio), So, this was anyways a big change for me and most of the team members are also aware of my tradgic story about PALIO( to know more follow the link: " http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/introd...lio-lover.html ".
I was already fed up with my Palio and the Pocket blasting expenses of spares for the same and one fine day there was another issue with palio , the battery went down and i had to replace it which i did, however that day i decided that its enough. No more spendings on the same car and i decided that I would go for a new one.
I had very few options in budget that i had 4 to 5 lakhs. I test drove almost everything in that budget inclding, Maruti Swift, Ford ikon, Indica vista and ford fiesta as well (the EXI was in budge because of CSD). I did like swift however the people in sales were not too helpfull and i am a kind of person, who will not buy if not given attention. So the sales people droped stones on their own foot.
Tata indica was another car in my budget. I drove the diesel varient (fiat multijet) and fell in love with the engine response and low noise, loved the interiors and everything , just one Glitch the meter console. Its located in center of the dashbboard, which i didnt like it as i am someone who doesnt drive a car below 100 km/h and at that speed if you take your eyes off the road to see at what speed you are driving , You are gone....!, so thats how Indica Vista was removed from the list.
Now here was something unexpected, Ford Ikon Diesel. I requested for test drive online and next day i got a call from Harpreet Ford Gurgaon. I was sent a car for test drive at my home and the Guy who came with the car was realy helpfull , I realy liked the engine which was very resposive to the feet and the Pickup was as amazing as it could be(something ford is known for). The new exteriors didnt impress me much as there are not much changes, the interiors were the same and there was of cours the known fact, " Its not easy to maintain a FORD ", however the guy who came for the test drive convinced me that its not the same story anymore as its used to be, He told me that the parts are now being manufactured in India and are not expensive. I told him that i wont buy this car which makes noise like anything (as the varient was diesel), He said if i could come to the showroom i would offer me something nicer than this.
I went to the showroom with my friend who was already driviing a Ford Ikon, and the Guy at the showroom showed me Fiesta , WOW was all i could say , the car had an amazing feeling, the interiors were mind blowingly sporty . I test drove the car and fell in love with it and made my mind to buy the EXI model as that would be the only model in my budge though CSD , and there you go boom. The EXI was the only model which was not available through CSD. There you go This car was cancelled and so was any other car from FORD.
While driving back home my friend sugggested to test drive ACCENT at a nearby showroom and we did. I drove the car and i didnt find much difference between the performance when talking about Fiesta and Accent , the interiors are not comparable with Fiesta as Accent has got the Decent feel and Fiesta is sporty, Exteriors i dont have any complaints its just beautyful , see the car and fell in love , Interiors have got the wooden finish and the steering wheel and the gear knob is leather wrapped, All power windows , defoger, and everything but A music system is the only thing missing.
I liked the car and made my mind to go for it , i sold my fiat palio 2003 model for 1,50,000 and made a down payment for the same and took a car loan from HDFC with an EMI of 8000 per month and bought the car this sunday , the loan procedure with HDFC was not difficult at all and everything was approved in only 3 days.
Its been three days only and i am just loving it. Will write more after driving more.

Congratulations on the new buy. You are correct that its not easy to maintain ford. Also their A.S & S. is not rated high. You have specifically described all the cars you have tried and finally settled for Accent. Accent is nice car now for what it offers.
Indica Vista central speedo is also a negative point IMO, may be we are not used to it.

and make sure you upgrade the tyres,as the 13" wheels look pretty small on it.

u made a wise decision. Trust me hyundai A.S.S. is peace of mind from what you faced with fiat. Now is the time for you to enjoy the car. Did u get any extended warranty??

The accent is a lovely car to drive. IMO, Black / White Accent looks very good. Please do keep us updated with other details as well.

What did she cost you, in total? Could you give us the breakdown of the OTR price, which includes road taxes and insurance?
Were you offered any freebies from the dealer? Did you opt for the extended warranty for the 3rd and 4th year? What did it cost you?

@Akshay4587: If you are happy with the Buy i am sure this love will make me happy as well, as far as the tyres are concerned , i have that in my mind however not right now as my first priority is a good Music system (Blaunkpunkt Kingston). Once the music system is system is in the next thing would be a spoiler and then Tyres and alloys.

@Hrag: Thanks for the suggestion buddy , " I still remember what SUNNY did last summer ". I wont repeat my mistake. Infact its just gonna be me who will drive this.

@ashish22: I didnt go for the extended warranty as the car comes with two years of warranty and i can extend it to 3 years any time within 2 years if the car has clocked less than 50000 kms, so i would get that sometime in next 2 years.

@Luvjascha: The final on road price that i paid was 4,95,000 , the on road price was 5,15,000 , but i got a good discount from the dealer and the sales person. 5k corporate dis, 7k dealer dis, 5k sales person dis, and 10k exchange bonus which i will get later as a DD. The only freebies i was given was interior mats, mud flaps , steering cover, Bhagwan jee.
I have not opted for the warranty yet , would get that after an year. The cost is around 4000 Rs.

@rudrah: i would post my experience , its only been three days so nothing much to post. I know you guys have followed my threads, and i am glad you remember sunny, because i do for sure.

Congrats on the new buy. Get the B-Pillar painted black along with some nice tints and alloys. How was the buying experience with Hyundai? Did they try to push the Verna in place of the Accent?
