Nice car Amey! Congrats!
Looks like you are fond of white ---both the hatches are white! The alloys look good.
You will be the best person to compare a Swift vdi and a Getz crdi. Do post your comments soon.
I know the Getz is far more spacious at the rear than the Swift. The only thing I dislike is the wooden insert on the dash.

COngrats For the Rocket.. Amey. The alloys look burning hot. Nice CHoice. How much you paid for them? The Wood Panels on the center console looks too cheap. I wish if Hyundai offered a Carbon Fiber Panel. Anyways, keep the reviews coming.

Well maybe its because Hyundai chopped the price by almost 30-40k and now it sits at around 6L OR.
Also maybe the Swift created a revolution of sorts for hot hatches, which led to increased interest in the getz ?

@ Thad ,
Although i havent driven the Getz too much but whatever i drove yesterday, was enough to give me a brief idea of how the car would be.
Same very very initial impressions and observations -

1) Driving position of the Swift is a bit better compared to the Getz
2) Throwing the swift around the corners isn't too scary but i am doubtful when it comes to the Getz. Mind you, My Swift has 195/60/R15 Michelin Pilot Primacy tyres which are 47k Kms old whereas the Getz has 195/50/R15 Michelin PP2 tyres which are new, lower in profile a bit,far superior grip.
3) From what i had read, i was a bit nervous because of the hype created of its insane power and how it is scary and all. To be honest, I didn't feel anything like that.My feeling is, if someone is used to driving new age Turbo diesels, it should be too much of a problem getting used to this beast.once the turbo kicks in, you do get a feeling as if you are no more in control of the car and it has completely taken over. Also, since she is new, I have been very gentle with her and haven't abused her.Once she is run in and all, will do all those lunacy :P Maybe my opinion changes and my confidence goes for a toss....lol
4) build quality feels much better compared to swift atleast now.Only time will tell how good it really is.

Thats all i can share right now. Will come back with more later on.

Congratulations Amey. The car looks great with the white colour and grey alloy combo. You have a pocket rocket there

Thanks for the comparison so far.

I took my driving test in a Getz (about 1.5 minutes driving) and thought it was very nice; still I bought the Swift (via a horrible Indica).

Now, like watching the share market, I am wondering when is the right time to sell the Swift (now 2yrs) and thinking Hayundai (I'll have to learn to spell it) next. Not even sure which one, though!

Also, like the share market, I'll probably make the wrong decision on when to sell the Swift!

U wont believe it! I was just thinking of super minis in our homeland. The seeds were sown when I saw an Alto 1.1 parked nearby. I kept thinking..Which is India's best super mini? The only answer Getz CRDi. Period.

Envy you Ami...Enjoy your diesel and drive safely. Feel so happy for you. Cheers!

Congrats Amey! You have decided to make a stable full of best diesel hatches of this decade. Vdi and now Crdi! Lovely, lovely car!

You have a great combination on your hand. One car with insane ICE and other with insane power!
