After nearly two years of looking around in the market for a replacement of my ageing Baleno, i finally got a Sonata transform home yesterday from Trident Hyundai.

Thanks for all your inputs to get me to this decision..

Its a space silver (a little blueish tinge to it). Initial reactions on the drive home:

- The gears are a little notchy
- A little bit of the vibration of the engine carries through to the accelerator
- Torque - especially >2K rpm is GREAT
- Asked to take it easy and not push it more than 100kmph till the first service
- The ridges in the bonnet gives a false sense of the edges of the car in the front and took some time getting used to a much bigger car
- Very comfortable car otherwise

I had detailed out my rationale to buy this car as opposed to the others earlier. Will try and put up some pictures over the weekend.

Congrats on a Utterly fantastic purchase. What with the transformed interiors and same pricing the Sonata has just become unbeatable value for that segment! Good presence and that crazy highway CRDI motor are added bonus! And what a back seat !!! :)

Congrats! :) on the first Sonata Transform on T-BHP.

Pics awaited along with a more detailed review.

Congrats Rangaraj, excellent choiceclap:.

I'd been following your other thread & am glad to hear that you zeroed in on the best VFM buy amongst the options.

Great Buy ! Congratulations.

Get comfortable with the ultra light steering before doing any kind of high speeds.

Can u manage that with the luxury of 6 gears ?:D

Congrats on your new aquisition, wishing you many happy miles on it, please post some pictures of the car.

Congrats for the acquisition !! Transform is indeed a great Value for money package.. Will closely follow up the thread :)

Congratulations on your fantastic purchase, the interiors of the Transform are excellent and the CRDi motor will test your patience while you're running it in as you'll find it difficult to keep her below 100 lol:
Great buy and please post some pics soon.Enjoy :thumbs up

Congrats,
Enjoy the car and post some Interior & Exterior photos

congrats mate..what was teh OTR price and any discounts/freebies on the car.

the transform, esp the crdi, is a brilliant package, and if marketed well, has serious potential to dent laura sales and to a certain extent the sales of the accord

Great VFM buy, added with Hyundai Service!

I don't understand why?
Despite being the capable product it doesn't have that snobb factor which Accord carries.

Two year,s! I thought you were deciding for longer! Anyway, well done

Just hope another Bangalore bhp-ian makes his final decision likewise!

Congratulations, that's a very capable car you've got there! Have fun!

Are you sure that's right ? The CRDi is supposed to be torquey even before that. Congrats on a nice car.

Congrats!!!
First few kms right out of the dealership just feels too big size to handle in the city traffic right :-)
I own earlier version Embera CRDi, hence mentioned "Two to Tango!!"

Its a space silver (a little blueish tinge to it). Initial reactions on the drive home:

- The gears are a little notchy

It gets better by around 5~7K kms.

- A little bit of the vibration of the engine carries through to the accelerator

In my case the clutch use to feel bit vibrations while trying to disengage, not at around 7k the feel is completely gone. Engine used to feel bit tight , which also has changed now.

Yes, but not so bad above 1500RPM too. Anything below is boring.

- Asked to take it easy and not push it more than 100kmph till the first service
I would go by the rpm, keeping it below 2500 should be fine. Which translate to ~110km/h in 6th gear on Expressway.

- The ridges in the bonnet gives a false sense of the edges of the car in the front and took some time getting used to a much bigger car

Yes, I have front bumper body colored sensors which help me a lot in bumper to bumper traffic, also helps to keep tab of two wheelers trying to push into gaps from all the sides.

- Very comfortable car otherwise
No doubt.

Will look forward to your pics.

Good to have somebody to discuss issues, small mods, etc with fellow owner.
