Booked Hyundai i10 Sportz

My wife wanted to sell her 5 yr old Alto and buy an automatic so that she can try her driving skills (currently driver driven).

I had a look at i20, great compact luxury car, also did a test drive, felt quite underpowered and moreover no automatic version.

Also checked ANHC, but my wife is not confident of driving a sedan and its expensive (10.90 lakhs on-road for the automatic).

I had test driven i10 AT a couple of times, great built quality but not all that happy with auto gear shift, I could feel the gear shift quite distinctly with a slight jerk. After 4 months of confusions/deliberations, decided on the i10 while driving to office today.

Model - i10 Sportz AT
Color - Blushing Red
Dealer – Advaith at outer ring road Bangalore.
On road price – 5,45,714/- (Increased by 8,000 since Jan 09, when I first got the quote)

Discounts
---------
Free insurance – 16,164/-
Corporate discount – 4000/-

Planning to upgrade the stock tyres (155/80-13) to 175/70-13 Yokohama with alloys
Got the following quote from the dealer today
Bridgestone tyres (175/70-13) – Rs. 17,500 (set of five), Yoko will cost another 300 per tyre
Less cost of stock tyres – Rs. 6,500/
Alloys (Acura) – Rs. 19,500/- (set of five)
I guess the above price is quite on the higher side, need to check outside. Please let me if the price is ok, also let me know if acura alloys are good, first time buying alloys.

Also planning to fix fog lamps, dealer cost is Rs.4000/- (I guess this is quite ok, Toyota was quoting Rs.18,000 for a pair of fog lamps for my Innova !!)

I may also fix remote lock, engine immobilizer – should cost another 7 to 8k

I last thing I would love to have is the same registration number (last 4 digits) of my Innova for my new i10 also, this may cost another 7K as per the sales guy, looks quite expensive.

Exchange price for my old Alto Lxi, 2003 model with 47,000 kms – 1,35,000 + 10,000 exchange bonus (I will get the exchange bonus only after 6-8 weeks, is this the regular practice?)

More about the car and dealer experience once I get the car over the weekend.

First things first - Congrats... have a good happy ride...

6-8 weeks is a pack of BIG LIE as I was also given a promise by Trident 6-8 weeks. But when I called up on the completion of 8 weeks, the total story turned upside down. They claimed that they never committed any thing less 12 weeks.

After giving a peace of mind to them, then they were saying some bla, bla like saleman dont know, only procurement office knows the correct time etc... However I got my exchange bonus only after 12 weeks.

Not sure of Advaith though.

My exchange bonus was deducted by the Dealer at Ajmer in the Invoice itself, at Rs.10,000/- (in March). Plus I got Discount of Rs.15,000/-, Free Insurance and accessories like Remote locking (or Rs.2,600/- Disc.), Blaupunkt Mp3 Cd player with 2 speakers (Or Rs.5,000/- Discount) since it was Magna Kappa, Seat and Body covers, matting, mud flap, no. plate. etc.

Decent I think

Welcome to the i10 auto family. Don't buy Bridgestone's though. Yoko's or Michelins are ok. Get the Tyre & Alloy setup from outside bro, the dealer's quote is a rip off. I got buyback 2k per tyre as my stocks were bridgestones. see my thread

Enjoy your ride, like redeff said, its raining automatic i10's here!

Just got the quote from Sai Iyengar & Sons in Indiranagar for the tyres and alloys, following are the detials.

Michelin XM1+ (175/70-13) - 3100 each
Buyback for the stock tyres - 1900 each

HR / league Alloys - 16,000 for set of five
Aura - 17,000 for set of five

Please let me know how good is Michelin XM1+ and the above price, I guess I am getting a good deal for the stock tyres (Hyundai was giving me only 1300 per tyre).
