Few things you need to consider before going for Jazz over i20:

1) Do you want a car with lots of space?
2) Do you want a car that can give decent FE?
3) Just imagine which car will serve the purpose after 3 years?

For me all the above went in favour of Jazz and have mentioned in detail in my ownership thread.

Bottomline is - Most of the Jazz owners including yours truly are very happy with the car and feels it is very much worth the money! At the end of the day, that's what matters - you want a car which brings a smile to your face always :)

agree: to Adi's points above and after being a Jazz owner can say it is a car which will bring smile to face everytime you drive the car.

I got a better quote today, so its going to be Jazz for me. Need to get a proforma invoice tomorrow and start the financing formalities.

Although the i20 is a full lakh cheaper, I am choosing the Jazz for its awesome build, interior quality and space (reason to look at the i20), ABS+dual airbags (decided that it is a must for my next car), smooth engine and ride, snob value of the Honda name and legendary reliability that it offers.

My wife loves the Civic. She suggested we wait for a year or so and get it. Emotionally I feel I have not grown to own a Civic yet. It wont happen in the next 3 years, both emotionally and financially.

So I drove her around in the Jazz and she approved after explaining about the issues with the i20.

Having said this, I have some concerns on the ground clearance of the Jazz. Current owners, any feedback?

Firstly big CONGRATS on your decision, you won't regret it 1 bit. :thumbs up

Well on paper the GC is definitely lower than others I guess but since the suspension is on the stiffer side it doesn't bounce as much which is good atleast in this case.
Having said that you'll definitely have to be conscious of the lower GC when going over bumps, etc. Try to reduce the momentum when over the bump by braking before approach & if it looks nasty take an asymmetric approach if you get what I mean(turn a little left/right before approach so that both front tyres don't approach the bump in parallel) I have been able to negotiate many a nasty bumps this way without scraping the bottom. Another heartening thing is important stuff underneath are well protected, is what I recollect when I once looked underneath during service.

All in all GC is low but nowhere near alarming. The Civic on the other hand would kiss the bottom a lot more I would guess.

I am planing to pick up a jazz in a week or so and am pretty sure that this is what I want, thanks to outLANDish and adimicra who helped me with my queries.
Now the only concern that I have is that with the minuscule nos. that Jazz is doing and Brio coming in early next year where does it leave jazz. I guess it's logical to assume that they would try to price brio in the same ballpark as polo which results in 6ish price for top end. With that kind of pricing for brio, would they completely do away with jazz or stop with the discounts. Either way, the current owners would have hard time finding spares etc couple of years down the lane, the only option being to shell out big ones for the imported parts. any info/comments pls ?

You should not be concerned about the numbers Jazz is selling. Each manufacturer will not just dump any product. The Jazz will be around for atleast 8 to 10 years. Also Jazz shares most of its components with the City and hence the spares will not be a problem.

As a fellow Jazz owner i have been very happy with it for close to a year now and you won't regret your decision.

Sounds very reassuring. I had the same doubt in mind while booking. Can someone confirm this?

I have driven Jazz for more than 10,000 km. Some of this has been on rather poor road surface. And roads in Pune have some rather nasty speed breakers.

The Jazz has scrapped the speed breaker only once during the 10,000 km it has covered. On the other hand Innova has actually scrapped its botton on much mider ones.

Further while Jazz loves smooth surafaces and lets you firmly if you went over a bad patch. Paradoxically the ride appears more hard and bumpy at slow speeds. If you speed up you'll notice the ride gets smoother.

I have the same concern. During my TD last week, the sales guy said they expect fewer Jazz numbers next year since Honda is likely to ramp down production of Jazz and ramp up for Brio. The only reason why he would tell me something like that seemed to stem from the fact that the dealers have been disappointed with Jazz numbers and hope Brio is going to do the trick for them. Wonder if Honda is also thinking so, in which case Jazz is a no no for me. The sales guy also mentioned the discounts will not continue beyond the new year but I dont know if he said that because he wanted me to book before the new year.

Im going to wait and watch. Have postponed my decision.

Current owners, are the OE headlights and horn powerful enough? Will an upgrade be required?

The headlights and horn Honda Jazz are more than adequate. They light up the road well. Further you can adjust the light through from inside the car. There is a switch that adjusts the light to compensate for weight configuration. However, you could also use it adjust beam.

Any louder horn, and you'll pretty much violate the law against noise.

I find them strictly adequate in the city. ON the highway I would definitely prefer bulbs with a stronger low beam.

Horn is more than adequate too unless you like those big roots twins.

I have been told recently that ANHC is more fuel efficient than Jazz which is a little hard to fathom considering ANHC has got a bigger mill but then it weighs only 45KGs more. so, wanted to double check. any info?

Devarshi, I read about your Aux in wire for the Jazz. Can this be used to read from USB drives or only a USB player? Also can a cell phone be used with this to connect the audio via the music system?
