No, the discounts are being offered on 2011 models only. The on-road price of the Jazz Select is 8.68L and the dealer is willing to close the deal at 8.20L. So that's a near-about 50k discount. |
I am wondering what happened to all the 2010 stock. Is that all sold off? I would prefer getting 100K off and pick a 2010 manufactured model instead.

Seem slightly high Pyrotek. I think you can get more discounts. I bought my car two months back in Bangalore for close to 95k discount. Came to 8 Lacs on road inclusive of 10-15k worth of accessories.

has Honda reduced prices ?
In Dec-10, Select's list price was 8.88 OTR in Blore. (have the list hardcopy)
Now, you mention 20K lesser, 8.68.
Btw, the finalists in my case were GP 90HP & Jazz.
my opinion - to drive GP is better, but overall Jazz is better. GP is beautiful, Jazz is funky. |
Lazy, what you have mentioned as on-road prices matches with my records as well. Although I must warn that this on-road price is somewhat inflated by a bumped up insurance price of 26 or 28k where in really they pay only 19k. Unless whitefield and others have reprinted their on-road price, 8.68 is not correct.

Current owners, do you feel any vibration on the gear lever while deaccelerating in 2nd gear?

Vibration at gear lever I dont think so but when I continue to rest my hand(old habbit) in the gear level _after_ shifting I do feel the weight of my arm grinding the levers and I pull out immediately. Do you rest your left hand on the level a lot?
But since you mentioned 2nd gear I am going to give it a keen observation next time. Apart from that this is what I have observed about 2nd gear:
Occassionaly when it involves 2nd gear(1-2,2-1,2-3), esp at 2000 rpms and lesser -- upshifting or downshifting -- there seems to be a jerk after clutch is released. It could be the RPM and overdrive of the car being in 3rd gear and above but I need to watch it closer or it may be driving style...not really sure. But its been there and there abouts nagging in my mind. A visit to the service station brought up nothing. Second service is due later this month, I need to figure this out. Any suggestions motorheads out there? If any of you in bangalore and would like to test it, give me a shout.

Every cars setting is different and it's a matter of our driving style getting tuned to it. You are driving Jazz in the style in which you are driving your previous car or other cars that you own.
Same thing happened with me. Initially, i also thought that there is some problem with my Honda Jazz X but upon my close observation i realized that it's my driving style at fault. I worked upon it and now there is absolutely no jerk in my driving. It's the timing of release of clutch and push of accelerator that you have to work upon and it will be fine.

Whatever manufacturer-> dealer figures quoted month-on-month for Jazz vs production of 2000 vehicles atleast up until March-April 2010 does seem to indicate of stock pile still existing. You may need to dealer hunt for older models.
Has anyone's sun visor fallen off? I used mine just I used to in my Alto and it fell down. Not easy to refix. Not a screw type, but push-lock system. The service guys fixed it.
Not a great design, considering it will be used a lot. I am very gentle with it now.
Another thing, I hate is the horn switch. You will have to use your palm and not thumb. Not made for India where the horn is used often.
Can anyone comment on the idling noise in the Jazz? I have been noticing this lately and I hear this specific low bass drone when the car is idling (with Music and A/C off) and as soon as I press the clutch the engine falls super silent. Let the clutch go and the noise comes back on. Jazz owners confirm this please?

I have been using the sun visor for many months in all possible ways. It is very easy to fix it in place. I often take it out and turn it when the sun is coming from the side. Do not know why you could not fix it.
Agree on the horn part, all Honda steerings are like that.

There is some idling noise but that can be heard only from the outside or with the windows down. Once the windows are up, even with AC and music off, there is absolutely no noise inside. It has been like that from day one.

I've just been told by the Service dept @ Honda that it is a genuine issue and is related to some faulty transmission bearings. Apparently there are lots of threads on the same issue on different cars, when Googled. I've been told this could be a manufacturing fault and they will need to unhaul the transmission, replace the bearings, test drive the car to make sure the issue is fixed and then only will it be delivered back. A 4-5 hr 2nd free service has been lengthened to a 4-5 day problem of non-availability of my car :( My concern is just how can such a problem crop so early in a new car?

mail4ajo,
I too have noticed this. Though haven't spoken to the Service Center about this.
Do you think this is an issue ?
What do the other owners have to say.

@9thsphinx thanks for the info. Is this is a common problem? I never noticed this in my Jazz, but I will observer carefully & report back if I hear any noise.

Just so that I understand right, you are saying that when the car is in neutral without clutch, you hear this sound & when you press the clutch with nothing else changing the sound goes away? Is this happening when you are stationary or on the move as well?

At my 2nd service also i had reported the same to service adviser but he said it is normal. Also had checked out other Jazz at service station and all had the same noise. Also service adviser showed some ANHC and they also had the same sound.
