HONDA JAZZ FACELIFT LAUNCH IN AUGUST 2011

Honda will launch the facelifted Jazz in August, 2011. The Japanese automaker recently offered massive discounts on the Jazz, which was to clear inventory and to make way for the new version. The new Jazz will feature changes to both the interiors and exteriors but very subtle ones. The exterior of the 2012 Honda Jazz now features revised bumpers, headlights, grille and tail lights. The interiors see a change of dashboard colours along with the addition of chrome rings on AC vents. The suspension has been tweaked for better ride and handling, while the 1.2-liter i-VTEC motor is now revised to offer better fuel economy.

The new Honda Jazz will also get a CVT gearbox in the top variant. The AT unit will help Honda lure buyers who are looking at an easy to drive urban runabout. The Japanese automaker will most likely hike the prices of the new Jazz but will still keep them in-line with the price cut they made recently. So with the new Jazz, we can expect a new pricing for the premium hatchback as well. This new pricing should start at Rs. 5.99 lakhs for the base Jazz variant.

Would be interesting to know what changes they have done on ride and engines. Engine change may be remap. Ride on bad roads is bit harsh. Highways, car is stable as a rock. Breeze while changing lanes, sudden braking etc.

The AT is a surprise.

I hope Honda also does something about Ground Clearance. They have been in India for over 10 years, and still have kept the GC of all their cars at levels that it scrapes every Speedbreaker, and bangalore seems to have one every 200 meters.Totyta put the GC of the Etios platform at a much better 173 mm. Is there a way to boost the GC of a Honda Jazz without voiding the warranty?

I did some reading on this and also checked out straight fit suspension systems that can increase ride height. But I was told we will lose out on the high speed stability on highways and can affect other components.

The issue is not bad in Chennai except for an occasional speed breaker. Bangalore, issue is acute due to several unwanted breakers. But does it incur any damage is what you need to find out.

What are you guys using for Lumbar support? I seem to be having uneasy feeling on my lower back after a long drive. Any idea or innovative products?

I am not sure why there is so much concern on GC of Jazz. It is adequate and does not hit the humps like say a ANHC. You can easily avoid most of the humps with a little bit of careful driving. I have hit the humps only once in my 1 year of ownership.

I agree with Adimicra. In last year and a half I have scraped the bottom, on a speed-breaker only once. That too only a completely ridiculous speed breaker that has come up in-front of the main gate of Command hospital in Pune. The design and height of the speed-breaker is complete violation of any design code. You can see scrape marks of the car on the hump, as well as beyond it, where the front fenders of various cars has also hit the road. Jazz only had minor on the bottom once. Never after that.

I have taken Jazz on many rural roads in Maharashtra, and believe me they can be pretty bad. Never once has GC been an issue.

I read somewhere (trying to recollect which website) that the facelifted jazz which is coming later this month have a slightly softer suspension compared to the current one. Personally I am not very happy with that. I prefer the stiff setup of the current Jazz.

Had been to Magnum Honda in Bengaluru today to check out the Jazz and the ANHC.
They did not even have a Jazz for display. The sales rep said they have stopped taking orders for Jazz will the new facelift version releases in about a week. He did not have any idea on the price also.

For the ANHC AT, was offered a 60K discount in the very first discussion. Looking at this, get a feeling if ANHC also is on the stock-clearance phase to make way for a facelift.

Anyone upgraded their headlights? I have got a set of Osram NB free. Should I replace? Will it make a difference?

With new pricing, IMO Jazz is much more better a deal then rest including new Swift.
Good that they retained safety features.

If Honda could have had this pricing on day one :Frustrati
