Hey Del,
I have recently ordered the com-paint value pack and the polish from the website,. My order should reach by this weekend. Wil use it and let u know the effect. |
Great.. I will be waiting for your review. How big are the scratch on your car ?
My experience, with the new mettallic paints, you can never cover up a scratch without re-painting the entire panel. I don't think com-paint will do the trick. May just work with solid colours, but you have to ne a real expert in this.
Trust me, I have tried everything, including getting the exact paint shade matched with the paint-shop, for my Baleno silver bumper, but it always looked like an amateur (and clumsy) touch-up. After two years of living with this, I swallowed my pride and got the entire bumper painted at the MASS! Car looks like new.

Nikhil, Sorry to Hear about the car damage. I am 99% sure who did that, but since I did not seet that kid doing it, I am not n aposition to escalate.
The cost of rapainting 2 doors wouldbe about Rs 5000. Its costly.
I am looking to try Com-paint.com They have got some good stuff and color options are available. Have you heard about this, Does this really works. They have got a Stall in Auto Ezpo too, I will try to visit them but can not promise. I have got a hectic schedule this week.
Guys just had a word with Raliance Autozone they have Com-paint products byt don't have the color, they can get that in 5-6 days on order and as per him it works and is easy to apply. I did check the demo video at their website. The cost is also less about Rs 500, with polishing can etc.
Regards

Del Guy,
Never heard of it. I will be visiting MASS this saturday. I am more worried about the body panel damage than the colour. I will upload the pics for the damage today without fail.
I will update the thread after my MASS visit.
Nikhil

Its a thick long scratch at the base of the car. A cement block with a sharp corner brushed the base of the car.

Cool. That's Great. Can you post the pics of the scratch before and after applying Compaint. We would be in a better position to judge it.
Also, I noticed my car was banged fron front. The front bumper's paint has come off and I can see the metal, its really small probably less than a inch. Somone must have banged that in Parking :Frustrati
What to do in this case ?

Yes, I have planned to take the pics before and after hence waiting for the weekend as I will have time. In you case I assume we can use sand paper dipped in water and slightly scratch off any dust and then apply com-paint. I also did a trial on a metal plate and works great. The can has more information on how to use than the website. So seems easier.

Funnyguru, take my advice and don,t do any touch-up work on the car . believe me it will turn out worse than what it looks presently. Leave the job to professionals. Even with the best of infra-structure and expertise, it is next to impossible to match the right shade/colour. The best you can get is about 98% perfection.
If you don't have a huge NCB to lose with your insurance, why don't you make a claim. You will be entitled to 100% of the cost since no depreciation is charged on labour and painting jobs. But in case you do a touch-up yourself, then you lose the last possible chance to make that claim. You can PM me if you need any assistance.
BTW, I own a Superior White Ritz ZXI, which is probably ( not sure) the first ZXI to be registered after its launch. DOR is 31.05.2009. I have covered almost 15,000 Kms. and I quite wonder struck at its performance. Its a tiny car with a huge heart and trust me I have tested it to its limits and it has never let me down. Its got the best ABS among all the cars that I have driven. My FE is about 12+ Kmpl with 100% AC in city conditions and about 13+ on highways at speeds of 150+ KMPH. Of the 15K Kms it has run about 50 Kms. is without AC.
Would love to share more details with, but right now my dinner is waiting for me:)
God bless.....
Any updates on this ? Did you apply that ?
Deli Guy,
Seems no updates of Funny Guru's car. It is true Ritz is a car of its iron heart. I too did a length of 12500 kms since September with VDI ABS. It did not let me down in all the speeds.
Got my Ritz Vxi delivery on 25th Dec 2009 atlast. Subsequestly, went for 2 long drives.
1) When the car had clocked only 250km went for long drive (Kolkata - Digha) with my wife. Km run - 402km. Mileage: 18.23kmpl (A.C on for 20% time)
2) After the 1st service, when the car had clocked 1056kms, again went for the long drive (Kolkata - Digha). Km run - 550km. Mileage: 15.23kmpl. This the car was fully loaded with 5 passengers and some luggage. (A.C on for 10% time)
Apart from the long drive in the city i got a mileage of 13.3kmpl in moderate traffic.
Hope my ritz is ok. But was surprised to find a strange sond when the car rolls. After enquiring with the MASS they said that this sound is even there in Alto , Swift, Swift Dezire so no need to worry. The sound is just of tyre roll on the road. Found this strange because my santro makes no such noise!!... pls if any one can this this noise is abnormal... I am suspecting bearing noice...but am not sure how can this happen with a brand new car..

That is a good point sir. Closely following the ICE section of Ritz and swift owners. About the mileage , being a petrol i get close to 15 overall. 13 in city and 17-18 in highways.[/quote]
