Go in for 15", there would be no problem. I also wanted to upgrade my wheels to 15", but i couldnt as i had to wait for the MRF tyers to burnout, but i couldnt wait to get the alloys so went in for 14" with 185/65/14 Bridgestone B250. Totally happy with the upgrade.
Go ahead and upgrade as the tyers are new rightnow so you wont have shell much on the upgrade.

Thanks guys.

I am confused between XM1+ and ER60. Which one you all suggest for noiseless & comfortable ride without compromising on the cornering ability?!

As for the 15 inchers go, not sure if 195/60R15 would fit in. Even 1.6S has 195/55R15 and not the 60 profile. 195/55 might make it a bit stiff, so guess will have to stay with the 14 inchers. What do you think?

So now the choice is among 185/60 ro 185/65 or to stay with the stock size 175/65; and between XM1+ & ER60.

Enough to keep me occupied over the weekend :D

Wife is already going mad with all the research and me staying glued on the lappy the whole night - can't help it; can i?

@karanraheja: Yeah, you might have guessed it from the tinge of Honda bashing i would have started oflate. I must admit that it was too difficult for me to decide against ANHC, but Honda attitude on pricing & interiors/features only made it easy for me.

Congrats on booking Fiesta TDCI and good write up too. Its a wonderful car. I just called the Sales guys home and went for a test drive. I really walked away impressed with Fiestas pickup, ride and handling. The interior fit and finishing was also spot on. I felt the engine was eager to be floored unlike Linea's engine. Sales guy from MPL was enthusiastic and kept rattling info after info on why Ford Fiesta TDCI is the best diesel car in that category. 8.7 Lakhs OTR is a excellent deal.

Ford guys are aggressive, I guess FORD is one brand that will emerge tops in 2010 with their small car launch and aggressive pricing and sales of Ikons and Fiestas.

Hey oss,
congratualations!
Waiting to see the pics.
As for the tyres, stick to the regular alloys that ford is offering, and upgrade the tyres.
I personally prefer Michelin over Bridgestone, and many other users such as Shaju who have upgraded to the XM1+ are very happy with its performance.
Also, one other fiesta user, nitin, has upgraded to 185/60 or 185/65R14 and is very much impressed, so I would suggest the upsize.
Though do check with the Ford dealer that it wont void your warranty, and if possible, get it in writing.

Thx lamborghini. Actually i missed 195/60R14 from the list.

I will be sticking to R14. The decision is whether to stay with the stock size of 175/65 or to upsize it.

Tyre gurus: Pls advice on the best R14 tyre for Fiesta TDCi.

Hey oss,

I wouldn't advise 195/60, as that would be too wide for the car and could hamper the performance a bit.
I would choose between 185/60R14 and 185/65R14.

@lambo: I have decided to go in for XM1+, to pamper myself with a bit of cushy ride :D

Now i need to decide between staying with the stock size or upsizing, ie. 175/65 R14 or 185/65 R14

I replaced the stock tyres with Turanza ER60 (hope i am right here) for my Fiesta D sometime back.. I would say the road noise is less when compared with the stocks.. but not sure about the XM1+..

Overall - i am satisfied with Turanza :)

I finalized XM1+ 185/65/R14 :thumbs up

@sbala: Which size did you go for, and what was the deal that you managed to get?

@kumar7: How is the ride with the 65 profile XM1+ ?

I cant say if there are better than these two tyers as i havent tried them myself. However when i went for tyre shopping, i was told that XM1+ tends to be little noisy after sometime as they are little hard in compound. But i can say this for sure, if you want decent tyres with no noise and soft ride, then B250 are great in this respect.
As far as 65 profile is concerned, i have not faced any issues related to cornering. Infact there is a streach while coming from office where i used to test my old MRF tyres. Now with these tyres, i did the same test and boy it went like a hot knife on butter.

Now a longterm owner of Fiesta D has certified the use of 65 profile, and the difference it made over the stock tyres, but boy, when i thought i had it nailed, he brought in another angle.

Now i have to decide among B250, ER60 & XM1+

There you go; got to start all over againstupid:

Somebody deliver that damn car fast, otherwise i will go bonkers over thisplease:

OSS@ I booked Fiesta & taking delivery on Dashera but I finalized the tyre deal and paid him all amount.

The price of 185/65 & 175/60 is same however I am going for 185/65 as most of the BHPian recommended & they are using it!

Hey oss,
definitely upsize!
The XM1+ becoming noisy is something I have heard for the first time. As per my knowledge, Michelins are a softer compound then Bridgestones.
How is this for a suggestion:
Search for threads related to fiesta tyre suggestions in the Tyre and Alloy wheel section of the forum.

I have gone through most of the Fiesta tyre upgrade threads, many times over :)

The preference seem to be equally divided between ER60 & XM1+, with the french seemingly having an edge over BS.

So, there it is. I too am inclined towards XM1+ 185/65. Hope i don't read anything in the next couple of days that will make me change my mind again please:
