Definite head turner, PUNTO....emotion

Me, dr. Nibu joe from kerala, would like to share my buying experience and first night, with the beauty, punto emotion.

To start with, little history.
My previous cars were, in the order of their appearances, 1996m800, 1996 esteem petrol, 2004 m zen, and 2005 palio 1.6 D.
This year palio started screwing me from all around by means of its infamous heart, the fuel pump and a check engine warning. I have replaced everything, lastly including the car to solve the issue.
From there starts my relevant story.:-)
In place of palio, i considered swift, ritz, getz, i20, palio, punto and ikon. Eventhough i drive alone 90% of time, i dont want to miss that 10% need for serious space for outdoor fun with pals.:-). Also diesel economy was an attraction. You may find many of my personal opinions wierd, but may be those were my priorities.

Swift: Too many on road, too much waiting period.

Ritz: Poor boot space, poor build quality in panels, poor power steering. I went to maruti show room asking for a ritz for demo. I dont see a road presence for ritz.

Getz: old design, i hate hyundai.

i20: over priced, poor engine.

Palio: at the verge of extinction, or else i may have gone for palio D 1.6 sdx

Punto: love at first site, team bhp reviews.

My budjet was about 550k.
But decide to extend for punto dynamic... And applied for finance from many dealers, of those best options were, sbi(8,10%reducing), axis bank(10.25%reducing and sundaram(6.4flat)
I have applied for sbi loan on 17th october. The next day i have submitted my it returns copy. And it was sanctioned on 18. I have recieved the cheque on 21.
In the mean time, my mind set forward for emotion. Actually i dont think of anything other than show off with emotion pack, may be i am wrong, i can always get a better aftermarket alloy, so is the case with blue and me. Airbags deploy with unethical precision some times.
So called rf motors, thodupuzha and booked emotion.
Black or blue or white, next problem. You may think that i am an unstable personality now, but the thing is, i like white, mom likes black, dad blue.

Settled for white after so much confusion....

Rf motors promised delivery on 24th, 4 pm after permanent registration.

Congratulations on the punto. I got my Emotion Pk white color delivered a couple of days ago.

Congratulations Doc. By the way you had the 1.9D right? (Not 1.6D)

BTW you got your car already? There is another thread going on related to the terrible buying experience from FR motors, the guy eventually cancelled the booking and went to Concorde.

Hey, congrats on your GP.

While I am not a Hyundai fan, I am surprised to read "i20: over priced, poor engine.". What's wrong with it's engine?

First and foremost - Congrats on making the right choice!

Dont you think ABS with EBD is a life saver at times?

I am too quizzed by your comments that airbags deploy is not precise? please elaborate

Congratulations Dr on your GP. I think you were referring to Palio 1.9D?
What was it about the i20's engine? I read that in another post too saying the engine is a slouch. Not very sure about what was the intended communication.
Could you throw more light on it please?

Hey drnibu, Congrats, you have made a great choice!
I am the victim that ' clevermax ' was mentioning. RF motors played the dirtiest game with me because of which I had to cancel the booking after waiting for 1.5 months for a White Punto MJD E+ .
I remember the last time I went to their yard at Edapally they had one or two White Emotion Punto in their stock. You might be lucky to get one of them. The paradox between demand and supply is the maximum for Emotion packs.

Anyway buddy, I request you to be very keen and careful in your dealings with them until you take the car from the showroom. A nice and obliging sales person can become a headache any time. So do check the VIN No. to confirm production date and also a thorough PDI, the T-bhp checklist can help you. All the best!
