My Figo is losing PS fluid rapidly.

Last week when i checked the oil level among other things, it was just below MAX. Today it has reached just above MIN.

Serious issue? or top-up will be fine?

Seems to be a leak for sure. 4 possibilities :

1. Leaky PS bottle
2. Leaky hose
3. Leaky hose endings
4. The cap is not tapped on properly and hence PS fluid is leaking out when car bounces.

I have 300 ml of PS fluid left with me. Guess i will wait for 30K service & keep on topping up the oil for now. Now on 28100 kms.

There is no visible oil spillage either in the engine compartment or floor. Could it be any other reasons?

Sid, was going through this old review wherein found above line funny:uncontrol
No rear power windows can be a boon in some situations, like the one in 2005 when mumbai was deluged.

Ford wants the Saheb seated behind to get rid of his Pan-eating and spiting habits.

The rear door on my Figo had rusted and I had given it for re painting.
Pics of the rusted area here
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offici...ml#post2640987

The painting was done free of cost and to my satisfaction. Took 3 days in total.

Nice.

I own a 2010 figo 1.4 TDCI EXI done only 12k kms. The C pillar and rear door rattling were fixed by the F.A.S.S. at the 10k service by cutting the plastic locks of the C pillar trims and adjusting the door strikers respectively. After few hundred Kms, the C Pillar trim rattle cropped up again.

As a DIY, i covered those locks with white teflon tape (Used by plumbers to seal the pipe threads) and re-installed the panels. This solved the issue but the rear door continues to squeak on rough/undulating road surface. It seems the door rubber beading is rubbing against the body. I could hear the same noise if i push the upper part of the rear door in completely closed position. The striker seems at right position.Though the rear doors require half the effort to unlock as compared to the front doors. Do you guys experience the same? What could be the issue? I tried to lubricate the rear door beading with vaseline and it solved the squeaking problem for few days. stupid:

Also from past 500 kms i hear a strange and loud "Cranky" kind of sound from the front right suspension/wheel well going over deep pot holes or high speed breakers at speed below 30 kmph. What could be the issue? please: I googled up which shows this type of problem associated with anti roll bar bush worn out or becoming hard..

I have a (relatively) long road trip coming up next month. The 2nd service is also due in end-April/early May.

Due to the trip I just want a good check-up of the car, but because the annual service is so close anyway, I can't make up my mind. Car has done less than 6000km so far.

My options are:

(1) quick service now, annual service in late May.
(2) Annual service right now
(3) Get a check up done third party (need recommendations on places in Hyderabad where this can be done)

what do you guys suggest?

Vina, considering your knowledge of the cars, I'd suggest a DIY check-up. Why don't you check the levels of all fluids and do a quick air filter cleaning using home vacuum cleaner. Also, look for any fluid leakages anywhere in the engine area.

If all fluid levels are ok and no leakages and no other issues in the car, I won't worry about the long trip. You can then get the annual service at the required time/ km's. Since your running is not that much, doing annual service now will require you to do next annual service earlier as well. Logically, 10k km's or 12 months from earlier service.

Needless to add, cars are pretty reliable now a days, no? :)

My experience with the Figo/Ford is to not visit the service center until you have a major problem. As mentioned earlier do some preliminary checks yourself, if you still arent convinced, take it to the nearest service for a top-up/checkup, they should do it for free.

Ford A.S.S here did a free check up for me before my Pune-Vizag-Pune trip. If you know the service center guys well, you can talk your way through this.

I would recommend an annual service after the trip rather than before it.

My ownership thread is up. Gave all the information about the mods, ICE and other stuff in here.

I was asked to pay 600/- for a free checkup before a long drive. So I did not opt.

Wait for annual service. As said, just check oil levels, leakage and warning lights. Nothing to worry Enjoy your long drive.

@ Bangalore Figopians - Was there in Bangalore in Innova (luckily) during the weekend, shunting between kanakapura road- Bansankari -Nice Road - ORR etc. Came across lot of road constructions and speed breakers. How do you manage those speed breakers in Figo.

Alright guys, I am moving from the Beat to the Figo club and very much zeroed on to the Titanium white. The dealer is offering me 10% off on the insurance amount (2100 off) and option to choose between footmat/mudflap kit and parking sensor. He is not willing to drop a single penny other than this. The final on road price is coming out to be 6,39,000/-.

Do you guys think its a good deal ? Or do you think that there is still a scope of getting more discount.

The only after market thing that I'll be going for is 3M sunfilm. No underbody coating, no alleged TEFLON coating. I even got the 4500 for 1 yr extended warranty. Really don't think that its of any use.

Also is there any other accessory you guys suggest ?

Did any one get their december offer gifts? Dvd players, Blackberry etc?

I had a rattling sound in the front suspension area right from the time I bought the vehicle. Finally in the third service it was localised to the shock absorber which was changed. Now the sound is not there.
