I checked outside. It costs 1400 for the pair of horns and 1100 for the relay with wiring kit . So they are not taking me for a ride.
The first service as per the booklet means they inspect the oil, change it if needed. The other things they only inspect and tightened all nuts and bolts.

I really need loud horns. In this part of Trichy ( Srirangam ) the goat population is more than the human population; and they are all on the roads. I literally give them a nudge with the car for them to make way.
@sunsetorange - I changed the engine oil, at my first service. The Service Manager was saying not required as per company, I insisted and paid for that about 1800/-.
Now that the initial running period is done, and all the engine parts are lubricated, I wanted this old oil, to be replaced with fresh oil.

Thanks. I too have asked for oil change.SA advised "sir oil change not needed" twice, I told "change the oil, all my friends have done for figo, I dont care how good it is" when he showed oil dip and said "we will change at 10K" . Gave car for service and came back to house since it will take 3 hours.
How do I check if they have really changed oil n oil filter. They have advised that oil change will cost 1.6k inclusive of oil filter.
Some how I dint feel warmth of a MSIL workshop which I used to get when I go for servicing my zen.

My exact feeling! MSIL service engineers made me feel important whenever I take my Swift vdi there. The Ford service experience is so underwhelming !

Not certain about oil filter, but the color of Oil should be good enough indication whether its changed. But you should check immediately after the service. Cause if you drive around the car the carbon deposit happens quite fast in diesel engine compared to petrol.
I am getting my second service tomorrow. Planning to change Horns Costs (2,300 Rs) in this service. My Figo is Oct 2011 version, it comes with single horn which is too bad on highway. Service people have Roots horn with them, any suggestions on this?
Also, there must be a scheduled oil change any suggestions on the kind of OIL that I must be using? Go synthetic?
Rear suspension is giving me a "Kawa Kawa" sound when I am hitting poth holes, the same do not appear if the rear is loaded. Lets see what the service people says.
Rattles and noise level have increased inside the cabin, must mention this to the service adviser. Praying that he will be able to sort this out and fix the rattles.
Has anyone tried after market LPG conversion on Figo Petrol. What are the pros and cons .
With petrol prices going up , LPG may be a better option. May car is 2 year old but under extended warranty

I got my first service done . Asked for extra horns . The service people fixed a pair of roots vibrosonic horns with relay and wiring kit . They also fitted a 2way switch to change between the new and old horns. All for 2780/-.. worth it ! What have you done about the headlights ?

I have not done anything with the headlights. Service people tell me that they have a Phillips change over for headlamps, but many people in the forum suggest s that they are not too good either.
I would love if I could have one of these,

From which service centre you got this done? MPL or Chennai ford? i'am waiting to do this upgrade. Do they fix only roots vibrosonic? is there any other options (hella red grill, Roots windtone etc) available?
Myself and my Figo TDCI had a hectic week, Did ~2.8k kms last week.
1st trip, Chennai-Trivandrum-Ponmudi-Trivandrum-Chennai and 2nd, Chennai-Tirunelveli-Chennai.
Figo behaves well in highways, doing 100-120 km/hr will not be tiresome. Reached 140 at some long straight stretch.
Figo returns ~18 km/pl whenever i push hard, If i drive sedately maintained 100km/hr then it returns 20-21 km/pl.
Figo does behaves well on ghats, on my trip to Ponmudi, i enjoyed every corner and hair pin bends. I was having some worries about TDCI's behaviour at steep ghat road, but Figo breaks out every bit of my worries. Choose the right gear is the mantra and you will have the power on tap. My cousin who had Etios Liva (P) tried Figo in ghats and blown away by its handling.
-ves - Headlamp throw is not sharp and very insufficient for highways and Horn (single) is utter waste for highways. Need to change this.. but this warranty stuffs makes me worried.
Some pictures from the trip..

I now live in Trichy . Rockcity ford is the name here. The service engineer told me this is a Ford authorized accessory. So it should be available elsewhere too .
I have got outside smell (if strong odour outside) coming inside the cabin in recirculating mode.
For example, while waiting at signals i dont find any odour of vehicles smoke inside cabin, but while passing through heavy smoke (smoke from burning garbages) i can smell the odour inside. Is this normal? or anybody experienced it?
That happens in my figo too. Especially when there is a garbage truck right ahead or the general area smells bad, some amount of smell creeps in. But even in our i10, the same thing happens.
In fact, in the figo, I have noticed that in the mornings, if the car is not sufficiently warmed up and I rev the engine to reach highway speeds, I can smell that slight diesel stench inside the car.The latter did not happen after I idle the engine for a couple of minutes before taking out.
For the former, I don't know if there is any permanent solution that I am aware of though switching off the AC for a minute seemed to help a little.
