+ves and -ves have been discussed a LOT here! So let me just add somethings not discussed here,
  1. The Music System hanged when we attempted to pair it with the phone. Even switching the car on-off wouldn't reset it. DISAPPOINTED.
  2. I know a diesel car isn't the most silent place to be. But then, compared to the Fiesta TDCi, the NVH levels are definetly high. Some cost cutting there? Eg. The Fiesta TDCI doesn't shake at engine start-stop like the Figo.
  3. Dealers - There's a lot of scope for improvement. Why?
    1. They had no idea on how to reset the music system when it hanged. Actually they were more eager in handing over the car to the next person in queue.
    2. They didn't have display car's security code to check out the bluetooth connectivity.
    3. Asked for a Feedback book to record my experience. They were clueless. They don't have a feedback book.
I'm not too enthusiastic of the service centres now. Not that they are bad. But the increased volumes (In multiples with the Figo) would demand a lot from them and lets see if they face the challenge well.

If you dont plan on reading all this. Read the verdict.

That doesn't seem like a fair comparision. Reads like a paid one.

"The Punto is a charmer. It’ll have people smitten by virtue of its looks only" --carsalesindia.com

the reviewer has happily forgotten that Punto has the best ride quality among all hatchbacks, strongest body, many gizmos (blue& me, etc), superior handling, steering, etc, etc

I must have missed you. Did you notice a blue Fiesta 1.6S standing behind an OHC when you left?

Nope, was a bit excited after booking the car, being it a first car. Waiting for the call from Bank ppl. Will post the updates.

Karthi is talking about the diesel.

A couple of things I missed posting yesterday.

- Central locking locks all doors as soon as you cross ~ 10 kmph
- Central locking unlocks all doors when the engine is switched off.

These two features are not present in the Fiesta central locking system.

I read in the booklet that the hazard lights will blink whenever the car is braked from 96kmph or above. Is that a feature ? If it is, I think it will look funny. :(

I think it's whenever the car is braked suddenly, ie in a panic situation when you stomp on the brakes - not when you normally brake :)

^^^ Thanks for clarifying that. I was wondering what it would do to the person driving behind a Figo. Seeing the hazard lights, he might prepare for a halt and the next moment he will be seeing you speeding ahead. That would confuse him for sure. :) However, under panic braking it might help.

In our country you might even be mistaken for signaling for going straight and then *bump* :D

Heard Ford is offering an extended warrenty and Total maintenance plan for Figo.Anyone knows about the cost involved for TMP.What does total maintenance plan cover. Is it worth taking it?

I think the hazard warning lights are a good addition.I personally pump my breaklight repeatedly or switch on my hazards after a emergency/sharp breaking especially if i see a truck or bus bearing down from behind at high speeds in rearview mirror.Think it saved me from getting rear ended once.

Not True, Tell me his name & showroom name & give me his no. if you have it. I'll see that he is sorted out.

hi Thanks for the update mustang.101. What in your opinion would be the fuel efficiency of ford Figo Petrol / Diesel in city condition. Also kindly comment on the shake up reported by members in the thread earlier during start and stop of Figo.

Take the 3rd and 4th year extended warranty if you can afford it. Don't take the TMP. It's not worth it. Actual maintenance cost will be lesser than TMP cost.

There is no shake while starting. There is a mild shake while shutting down, but the same kind of shake is present in nearly every diesel vehicle I have driven till now. The sound insulation on the Figo TDCi is not as good as in the Fiesta TDCi. It's the same level as in the Ikon TDCi.

ARAI figures

1.2 Petrol - 15.6 kmpl
1.4 TDCi - 20 kmpl

During start/stop of the figo "diesel" you will experience a half second shake (not discomforting at all), but its not a cause of worry or anything

This is very common in diesel cars

It happens in all ford diesel cars whether in India or abroad

It happens in fiesta TDCi, Fusion TDCi, Endeavour TDCi.

Dont worry, Its there in all diesel cars & does not affect the interiors of the car
