Finally a POLO that's not Red :)

You can read my previous posts on this link
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...review-91.html

After getting my car, all that was needed was a good music system

And all i would have settled for was a 2-din. Didn't like the aesthetics of the one offered by the company so decided on an Alpine one and got a good deal too. But the problem arises halfway through the installation. Polo faceplate doesn't support standard 2-din size,

When you get a 2-din installed from the showroom they have a separate faceplate, which of course they are not willing to give/sell.

So there are two options here, either cut the existing one or create the new one. The guys at the Alpine showroom were very professional and assured me they are equipped to handle such situations.

Guess what i go in for?

The faceplate they created looks superb with the leather finish and has an amazing finish.... i was smiling like a baby looking at this faceplate and then we are naded with another problem - POLO doesn't have a wiring provision for speakers on the rear doors. Poor chaps had to do it all over... and finally came out this beauty...

the sound quality is just what i was looking for. Good enough for the car, doesn't go out.

Also found this info. quietly tucked on the inside of the fuel lid.

it's got me a little confused. It's suppose to be 29 PSI right? it's generally just me driving around! i think the guy at the Service station had done 32 PSI, will get it checked today itself

Cheers

Ditto here with my FIGO. My Lxi came without a music system and it has the same type of faceplate supporting 1 DIN. Inspite of getting a cheap deal on a 2 DIN I had to settle for 1 DIN. But no harm. I am using the empty space for dispensing tissue papers.

The cost for the 2-din unit was 16,990 but got it for around 13K (with warranty, in a box and all other things mentioned on the box).

Am thinking of getting the required bluetooth accessory (KCE 400BT), but can't really find a review on the forum, nor my phone on it's compatible phones' list... so still contemplating whether it's worth taking the risk of importing something that'll cost me around 8K.

Sorry about the lack of pics., have managed to misplace my camera... using my phone :( but more pictures are definitely on their way. About the lack of features thingi, its got everything i want, except for an airbag... couldn't afford the high-line so settled for TL. And the showroom was sweet enough to not charge me anything for the fitting.

Cheers

Polo Sport Seat Covers

Hi Sid

On your previous post, you had uploaded pictures of the standard seat covers carried by the dealers. Can I know how much you paid for it? The dealer in Chennai is asking Rs. 7650. It is basicaslly imitation leather so it seems quite a high price for that.

Generally, they seem to be charging full price as printed on the part.

Your response is appreciated sicen I have to decide by this weekend about the seat covers...

Hey Sid, a big CONGRATULATIONS.

The car looks very elegant in White. I really like white on the Polo. Which dealership did you get the car from?

In between I saw my first Black Polo near punjabi bagh today. It was all black, with dark tints and silverish number plate..looked too wicked.

Wish you all the best. Take care and Drive safe.

Gaurav

Sorry for going MIA, had some urgent projects come in - that's what happens when you're a consultant, either no work or too much work piling up all at the same time

Well here are some more pics

Not all of you would know that the wipers of the POLO can not be lifted, but now that you do, have a look at what happens when your car cleaner forces them up

This is the driver side door, easily fits a 1 lt. bottle, without in any possibilities of it disturbing me while i drive, though of course if you keep a cold bottle in there, chances are you'll be having to clean the dew that forms on the bottle - There's no outlet for a bottle there

Finally a POLO that's not Red :)-20100611-18.52.02.jpg

and this is the glove box, enough space but still haven't figured out if this is the right position for the shades, lemme know if i am wrong

Enough said here are some more pics of just the interiors
