Should I get the engine oil replaced ? Or am I living with old school thoughts ? Also would want to use synthetic oil - any comments on that front ?
I guess it should be OK. AFAIK it is ok to change the oil at 10K Kms. I checked the color and texture of the Oil it seems fine as well. So I guess it is fine.

Check this article to decide on the oil..

Isnt the fuel mileage a tad too low for the highway run?

@ extreme, yes i too feel the mielage is too low for the highway run. May be coz the car has done only 1700 odd clicks ?

@ nkrishnap, I have heard many complains regardng the AC of the i20. I personally have not faced any such issues, and am happy with it, so far.

@ri, thanks for the pointer

Looks very good. Easily one of the best colors for i20. Please keep us posted on the mileage, I guess it is currently on the lower side, should improve after a while.

Happy riding!

Hey @ri the pics have been taken in Puri. I just got back a while ago. Pictures should be on its way in a while. I should convince myself to do a travelogue sometime, soon.

Yup the mielage is slightly on the lower side, I guess the previous tank full did return an average on the better side of 14 however, I did forget to calculate. Damn !

2463 kms update.

The car odo now reads 2463 kms.

I just got back from a 1400 kms odd round trip to Puri, Orissa -
  1. On the way back the car felt a tad smoother and was revving beautifully.
  2. It went upto 150 "quite" comfortabely, I'de say. However it had to be "pushed and shoved" to 160.
  3. I flew with 4 wheels on the air at one of these small "bridges" and landed quite comfortabely. I do kind of like the suspension set up, its a kind of decent compromise between comfort and performance (though, its not really a performance oriented hatch).
  4. Pictures shall follow.

On the way back from a visit to Sterling Resorts - There are absolutely no roads whatsoever.

On the way back to Kolkata :

This was at a petrol bunk approximately 250 kms from Puri towards Kolkata. Their card machine was not working and I was running short of 300 bucks - I payed that in Chinese currency

great set of pics ,
But Hyundai kinda spoiled the front end look with that Chrome strip just like the buck tooth of the Scorpio.
If i were you i would get it painted white.

Nevertheless, the car looks spectacular .

Nice pics again!!! I liked the one at the petrol bunk, gives the sense of a hard working "macho" car with the mud kicked up onto the chassis

I'll say that Vinay's observation is spot on. While not as bad as the Mahindra grill job, Hyundai made the already great looking i20 slightly less so.

Think about it, though it's not such a big deal. By the way, the car looks great, and the drive back to Bhubaneswar from Konark is absolutely delightful.
