I would say it is low compared to Accent CRDi that i owned before. But not bad as many had quoted.

I feel that, AC and the lifeless steering are the ones which impedes the majority of the prospective i20 buyers!
AC is okay, but, could have been
much better.
Team, started getting an issue with remote lock.
Would like to share the same and see if i can get a resolution.
Whenever i switch off the engine and cabin light goes on, remote lock works.
Some times (Approx 4 out of 10 times) when i switch off the engine and take the keys out of the knob, cabin light is not coming up. At this situation when i use remote to lock, i get no response.
At this situation, i need to start the car and switch off again till i get the cabin lights on :-(
I guess security system thinks that the car is still on.. my guess.
Planning to take it to Service center this weekend. But, I would struggle to show them if the issue is not showing up when i am at the service center.
Advice please.

Disconnect the battery once and reconnect after 15-20 minutes.Check if it solves the problem. Also try once with your car spare remote and check it still persists

This is nothing to do with the battery and central lock. This is due to hardened Ignition switch. Either the owner has to pull the key hard or just press the ignition switch inwards so that that it pops outwards.
Technically, this is Ignition Key Reminder feature engaged.

Hello Classiselva
I have purchased an i 20 CDRI and not very happy with the HEAD LIGHT and its brightness. Did you feel the same, I am planning to change blub. any suggestion if so.

Having the same issue now. The Remote just stops working on its own the the doors wouldn't lock/unlock when you press the lock/unlock key.
I found an answer to it by opening the door lock using the key, then inserting the key in the ignition and turning on the ignition(not starting the engine). Remove the key & then the remote starts working normally again as if nothing was wrong. This non-functioning of the remote happens intermittently. Inserting the key in the ignition and removing it makes the remote to work normally again.
Since I knew I would have a tough time convincing the chaps in Hyundai about this issue and to avoid the sense of Deja Vu, I decided to record the whole process. The whole video should be self-explanatory.
i20 remote not working intermittently - YouTube
For the time being, the remote seems to be working normally. But I know it will happen again the future. It has already happened a quite a few times in the past 3-4 months.
So, if you are have trouble "showing" them the issue, show them this video instead :D

Hi Roshan, i too feel it is very low in brightness. Thinking of upgrading after warranty period, as changing now may void the coverage.

Thanks for sharing the video skanchan95, will make of this make those guys understand.
More info: I tried pulling out the keys bit faster than usuall (as GTO mentioned). It works... but we can NOT do that always:Shockked:. I guess the issue is with ignition key part somewhere... I did'nt had time to visit the *** last week, will keep posted.
hi selva
nice to see that the thread is still alive and celebrating its first anniversary.
anyways, regarding the hard ignition switch thingy, i would like to state that i am facing the same issue in my i20 magna crde. i'm unable to crank the vehicle in the first attempt. The key goes and gets stuck somewhere inside the key hole. I've got to turn the key to switch off position and turn it on once again to crank her up.
annoying at times.

Soori you are spot on, the ignition switch is the culprit.
Thanks for sharing.
I am quite new to this forum , thanks to team bhp you made me zero on to the perfect car I20 Diesel asta , I took the delivery on 20 Oct from Advaith Hyundai B'lore :) the colour is Mushroom , I am fortunate to have got this colour given the fact that I had booked silky beige , though I had hated the dreaded 2nd gear of the 6 speed version for which I had taken the test drive , I found 5 speed very responsive , the whole trick is to keep it in the power range, regarding the Ac I found it satisfactory not like the bone chilling one of Figo , but then I went for 3M RE-35 sunfilms , which I felt quite good during our recent trip to Goa , all in all I am quite happy with my boy not heard of the dreaded steering chatter till now touch wood , regarding music system I did not upgrade the stock head unit but got the speakers replaced by Cerwin Vega , excellent music and clarity
Hi ClassicSelva & Roshan ;
Try OSRAM Night breaker Plus @ 1150/-, I got it intalled from the showroom itself during the delivery so I guess it is legal , you should see the effect it has during highway trip , during our recent trip to Goa , we left B'lore @ 6.30pm , I was quite afraid of the night driving when I owned a Getz had tried night driving once at Shimoga Bangalore stretch I can still remember the nightmare I had since the stock bulbs were of no use against heavy trucks etc , by the time we left B'lore proper i.e we had approached flyover through Peenya it was almost 6.45pm after the flyover the rest of the journey was very pleasant , the reason I am recommending this is you should see the effect this headlights have on the truckers , In fact since I took the car out on a long journey when it had clocked only 38kms on Odo reading itself , during driving another i20 petrol version and a VW polo were riding alongside us at least 2 or 3 times we easily overtook it due to sheer power of CRDI engine , in fact both the cars were struggling to overtake truckers due to their stock headlights when we approached the truckers we could easily get the way with 1-2 upper/dipper movement :) even my wife was amazed at the effect this headlight has on the road , visibility is improved by almost 100% , couple of times I missed hitting the side median due to poor visibility on the road but thanks to OSRAM we were saved.
Other team bhpians pls share your views on this

NBs ARE legal because it has the same wattage as the stock bulbs - 55/60! Another advantage is that you don't have to tweak the wiring for this. If you can get hold of a distributor, these bulbs can come for as low as 900/- if I am not wrong!

The output is 100% because these bulbs are designed to give the output equivalent to 100W bulbs than the 55W stock bulbs.

Sooraj Naik, quoted by GTO, to my opinion, is bang on target. I had the same issue in my Santro. I took it to service center and got it (the hardened ignition) rectified.
