Ford Figo enters a FIATians garage

Many people know me as a hardcore FIAT fan. That has gone to the extent of known ones even calling me Punto Vignesh.Life was smooth with the Italian beauty in my hands. The Punto MJD.what a car.Suddenly my running on the Punto increases, extra classes and so on.So thought why not a second car.I started with an urge to get a used Palio or Petra D(afterall Fiat fan right). My dad said a big no to used Fiats. So considered cars ranging from Alto K10 to even another Punto.
The cars in the list were:
1.Alto K10
liked it.powerful,Maruti *** etc.But suddenly felt that the car is too expensive. So it went out of the list.
2.Indica Vista
considered because of the MJD.but the handling was a let down.Highway cornering was not confidence inspiring. So it went out,
3.Maruti Swift DDIS
went ahead and paid 5k booking amount. One month was the time promised for a white LDI.Suddenly my mom came and said "why not Figo.Swift is too common son.".I said OK because this time my family was given the right to decide.

So the FIGO TDCI LXI(base) was readily available with Chennai Ford.Went and paid 25k,the loan was cleared in 2 days flat. The car had to wait for a FORD OE central locking.that took about a week.Worth the wait i must say.Paid 6k,but its just great.

The car was delivered day before yesterday with 30kms on the ODO.dint touch the car yesterday.Took it today to the temple and performed a pooja. Then went to my favourite tyre dealer for a wheel upgrade. The car came with Goodyear GT3.went ahead with the OE tyre.Dint want 195 tyres as this car was just for commute and not for the Bling. All the bling is there in my Punto. So just a AMG replica alloy has gone in.Paid 14k for a set of 4.
let me post pics pre and post alloys.sorry for bad quality(bright Sun).will post better pics ASAP.Just wanted to start a thread first, thats why these pics, sorry again

Congrats. The alloys look hot compared to the boring stock rims.

By the way, are you saying you simply went by your mom's suggestion and bought the car? Not that your choice was bad, but I find that a wee bit hard to digest (no offence, just kidding).

You know my mom watches Discovery Turbo. She identifies Chip Foose and Ryan of west coast customs. She also notices modded cars on the road and suggests me.But i took her suggestion because Figo is a good car, great handler.a pic of the alloy

The 5 spoke white rims look real hot on the Figo. Congratulations.
You should have got 5 rims for that price, IMO.
Where did you buy them?

I got it from Majestic Tyres Egmore.I was quoted 12k for Plati.I liked this design, so went for these.I paid 13.2k which includes everything, balancing, tuner nuts etc.the wheels are with bill and warranty.I was quoted 14.4k for the same wheels by Rithesh,Asoka wheels,Hyderbad.

Congratulations Mate, awesome piece of equipment you have there. The FIGO looks brilliant in pristine white and the alloys are simply the icing on the cake

Congratulations on your new buy Vignesh.

The alloys blends with your car very well. And yes, I'm drooling over those alloys.

I'm looking forward to see the high resolution pictures. Please do keep us updated.

OT: Trust me, I had never thought that you would buy a non-Fiat car!

Drive her safe. Wishing you a happy and safe motoring.

Now, we can hope to have a non-biased Figo versus Punto comparo.
