I like the photos, all your efforts are seen in the results! Do you know if Wagon R still comes with the LPG option?

This indeed is a teaser your photography skills are great mate.:thumbs up

Thanks Shrini. he does look good.

Thanks Sagar. its normal a combination of lightroom and photoshop.

to my knowledge, a company will be interested in taking photos if it plans to reintroduce it through advertising or so. Lets see how it goes. Regarding studio, there are ways you can trick studio shots.

Thanks Ajay. though the white homemade softbox reflection kills it to an extent.:D

Thanks dkb.

I dont know whether it still comes in CNG. I think it comes.

Thanks somu.

Anvancy,

I don't think I have come across a better review for a Wagon R backed up with some of the best pictures.

I am looking for a car to replace my dads aging Matiz and I don' think there is any better car than the Wagon R

I did have a test drive yesterday and kind of liked the space inside and the overall driving comfort, but was aghast with the quality of the parts, the car had only 7000 odd kms and the front power windows were not working, engine sounded a bit rough, obviously I dont think they maintain their test cars well

Apart from this I did not experience any rattling though

My biggest concern is the mileage, in city b2b conditions what would be the mileage and if you don't mind could you also share your current mileage and otr price.

For the LXI model i got a quote of 424135 and they have a promised a discount of 40000.

I am getting a mileage of around 17-18kmpl.which is good enough. may be the fitment in the test car was not good. the actual cars have no problems.

Ill get back to you regarding the OTR price. I think it was 4.36 on road corporate price.

Anvancy

Is there any option to introduce AT version again in Wagon R ?i think they should introduce 5 speed AT to avoid the misconception about AT i don't find any problem in driving my ANHC AT it also gives me a good mileage, acceleration, and comfort.

Anvancy ,
Any updates.I love your photographic skills.Have you got your music system.Any plans for alloys?Do update

I have got my blue eyed boy and my dad seems to be enjoying it. We bought a Waggy like a Maggie, it took my dad less than 2 minutes to decide on the same and he was also happy with the deal.

I got 75000 for my 2001 Matiz and the dealer also offered 25000 cash discount(15000 offered by Maruti and 10000 from dealer) Apart from that the dealer also provided a Sony Music system with USB plus Sony Xplod speakers(4 doors), remote locking, wheel caps, sun film, reverse horn(not my favorite but a must for my dad) and the usual mud flaps/mats.

Overall satisfied with the buying experience and dad was more than willing to shed the balance 3.2 L for the new car.

BTW I also decoded the Vin number and the car had a Nov manufacture. Will post more details and pictures after I come back from my vacation

@Chillout

Congratulations on your new Blue-eyed boy.

I really like the statement "Bought the Waggy like a Maggi". I think this should be the title of your ownership report if you intend to start so.

Man!! I think you've got a tremendous deal on the Waggy. You've got everythin and more you need in a car.

Do post some photos of your "Waggy like Maggi". :D

Chillout: You got a grand deal... The only extra I was offered on my SX4 was a gear lock by one dealer. Everybody else were not willing to give anything extra citing some Maruti Suzuki diktat. The prices were exactly the same across at least 5 dealerships that I visited. There was an additional discount of 5k between the November and December prices.

fantastic review anvancy and i am in love with these fabulous photographs. congratulations for the wagonr, wish you it serves you for many miles.

PS - which SLR and image editing software you use?

The Blue Eyed Boy Initial Review-WagonR! UPDATE :2300KMS

Now have driven for 2300kms I have started to observe, check and critique my car.

The positives:

Every damn person that sits in the car says "Its so spacious!!" Interiors look so good! This is a very positive sign that the design is mass appealing. And I dont get bored seeing this retro design everyday.

The engine. I stated in my review about the gears. 1st and 2nd gear are short according to my observation. Its the 3rd and 4th gears that bring sheer joy to this car. The accelerator pedal has sort of two modes due to the way its been tightened. the first is just a cruise mode. the pedal requires the slightest weight and the car cruises at your speed in 3rd or 4th gear. Apply a little pressure, and watch how she roars. I dont know about others but I love the car makes the engine sound. the 3 cylinders are tuned so perfectly in 3rd and 4th that you crave to drive fast. This gear tuning has nicknamed the car as a peppy engine. Ofcourse once you switch on the AC, things go on a slight crawl. But without AC its a joy to ride. Frankly Ill not this car to perform huge with the AC on due to its engine capacity.

The Noise Reduction is also great. She sounds even more nice with the windows closed. :D

The Issues:

Now when I close my windows, and I drive alone, the co passenger seatbelt just keeps banging on the column. This makes a tak tak tak sound. Kinda irritates me. hahaha.

There are some metal vibrations from the boot if I go through a pothole or so.Its like there is not enough padding.Ill check that.

The biggest issue that is bothering me is the gear shift. While driving, all gears work good, but when I am downshifting, coming from 2nd to 1st, the gear for a short time seems jammed.Even with the clutch pressed, you have to apply a decent pressure to move it in 1st. Once you are in first go in second come back to first,it feels normal. But why this locking issue?

Any explanation?

@bluevolt: thanks. I use a 550D with LR and photoshop as editing tools.

Anvancy

Congrats on your new car Anvancy, and I have to say, your photographs are easily the best I've seen on TBHP so far...keep it upclap:

Exactly, the Vxi is much more VFM than the Lxi (absence of tacho is what I hate the most on all of Maruti's Lxi cars). But have a look at the Waggies on the road, almost everyone of them is the factory fitted CNG variant. The CNG waggies can be identified by the diamond-shaped CNG sticker on the LHS area of the rear windshield and the 'Green" sticker on the top of the rear windshield.

Unfortunately, Maruti doesnt offer factory fitted CNG on the Vxi variant. Anyone going for a CNG vehicle is stuck with the Lxi variant

Of course, my reasoning doesn't apply in this situation, since its anyway a petrol car, just giving a general viewstupid:
