LORD'S - The Home of Cricket

Should this be under Travelogues? Let it be. Dedicated to all Cricket lovers.

This wasn't a planned trip, made our mind to visit the Lord's ground thursday evening and started by Saturday Morning. Mode of travel - Train

London midland maintenance works put the first hurdle in our journey. No morning trains were operating from Milton Keynes central. Got bus from MK to Watford Junction and from there in train & tubes.

Here goes our journey Milton Keynes --> Watford --> London Euston --> Green Park --> St. John's Wood

Entered the stadium by 12:00 and spent around 2 hours there.

PS: Our master batsman Tendulkar never scored a century here

Re: LORD'S - The Home of Cricket

lovely photos
did you see the memorial plaque to W G Grace? was recently watching the DVD of Bodyline where they show several scenes in the "Long Room" where the board used to meet. One can picture it full of stuffy old chaps making decisions on events that were happening a few thousand miles away!
lovely place Lord's is - hallowed ground indeed.
i got the same feeling here as I got when I first visited Wimbledon and St Andrews - the respective homes of Tennis and Golf. really feels like holy ground. strange but I had the exact same feeling of awe at the Vatican in St Peter's Square as well as at the Madurai Meenakshi temple. must be something to do with the huge amount of residual energy left there by so many visitors from all over the world. cant explain it at all!
have fun Mr Boss. Enjoy England. Really appreciate that you're taking time out to visit, see and experience these interesting places! Do try and see Stonehenge too - quite interesting!

Nice photos.
On a lighter note, all the painful memories of 4-0 whitewash bounced back after seeing those pics. 4-0 loss against England is just difficult to digest.

Mr.Boss - You are one lucky guy. Getting to visit the home of cricket.

By the way are the first couple of snaps from the players balcony? Is that the bench on which Sourav Ganguly was standing and waving his shirt after the famous Natwest series final?
