Are you sure the ship picture is latest? The ship (River Princess) was broken down by salvage experts way back in June 2011 when I stayed at Taj - Fort Aguada. This must be an old picture I reckon.
Thanks. if i remember correct COCO was there at Ratnagiri. There are lot of big pumps in this route.

Regarding ship, those shots were of our trip in 2007. I have mentioned it.

Goa - Delhi

Dear all,

I am planning to do a road trip from goa to delhi starting on 30/31st AUG.

Car :SX4 ZXI, 2009 MODEL, recently serviced, wheels replaced
Passengers: Self, Wife, 5 year old labrador
Drivers : Two (Self and wife)

Following are the plans :

Plan 1

Day 1 (30th aug) - Goa- Pune , start at 1400 hrs
Day 2 (31st Aug) - Pune - Udaipur. Start at 0700 hrs
Day 3 ( 01st Sep) - Udaipur- Delhi(NOIDA) start at 0700 hrs

Plan 2:

day 1 (31st Aug) - Goa Baroda , start at 0500 hrs
day 2 (01st sep ) - Baroda- Jaipur
day 3 (02nd Sep) - Jaipur - Delhi(NOIDA)

I'm keen on plan 2 because I will have to cross Amboli ghats for going to pune, and there is a likelihood of a traffic jam on a saturday afternoon.

I am taking less pit stops, because it always becomes difficult to find a hotel which is pet friendly and covieniently located.

I will appreciate if esteemed members can guide me on this plans
Suggest any alternate route
or any other suggestions

Since I have to go to NOIDA, is there any way I can go via agra and avoid Jaipur --Delhi..

Cheers and Regards

Which route to take from Panjim, Goa to Pench

Hi guys,

Am on my last trip for the year and what better way to bring 2015 to a close than giving a shot (or several!!!) to Pench National Park and Tadoba. We are two families - My friend in his trusty Toyota Innova and me in my Safari Storme 4X4.

I have my safaris booked in Pench as well as Tadoba so thats all sorted. AM staying at WelcomHeritage Jungle Home @ Pench. And in Tigress@Ghosri in Tadoba.

Planning to take the route via Belgaum (or Belagavi as it is now known), Bijapur (Vijayapura - current name), Zindagi, Kalaburagi, Degloor and hitting NH7 at Nirmal.

Does anyone have any idea of the road conditions on this route. I drove on the NH7 last in Feb so have no idea of the current state.

Beyond, I will bypass Nagpur from Jamtha/Rui and head to Seoni past Pauni and Deolapur.

Any suggestions on the road as well as updates regarding current road conditions would be much appreciated.

The return leg will begin with a run to Tadoba. Google is showing me one route through Barghat, Katanga, Sawri, Chichi, Tumsar, Kardhi, Pauni, Chimur, Khadsangi and then on to Ghosri village to my resort. The second option is through Lalbara, Balaghat, Gondia, Chikali, Desaiganj, Nagbhir, Palasgaon and onto the resort. The third option is taking the NH7 (AH43) through Seoni, Deolapar, Mansar, Jamtha, Patanbori, Warora and back to Ramdegi.

Would anyone know the best route here too, in terms of road conditions as well as traffic situations?

Last leg will be from Tadoba back to Goa, and this time I want to try the road through Adilabad, Medak, Zaheerabad and onto Vijayapur and the road back through Belagavi.

Hoping for your inputs before tomorrow, as I leave early tomorrow morning.

Cheers!

Re: Delhi - Goa - Delhi - New Year Vacation (Extended to Bangalore) - 5300 kms

We again drove to Bengaluru during second week of June.
Update on the road condition.

Route
Delhi - Jhansi - Sagar - Nagpur - Hybd - Bengaluru. (2150 kms)

Day - 1 Delhi - Nagpur - 14 hrs drive. - 1030 kms
Excellent Road - Only bottle neck - Agra

Jhansi can be bypassed (25.4931800 78.5534150)
About 25 km before Jhansi , turn right towards shivpuri. Follow the lalitpur signboard.

Roads around Pench National park is 2 laned, widening in progress plus ghat section.

Very less eating options on this route.
Lunch at Sagar - Parkway retreat , Reasonable good property.

Tea/Snacks break - Bison retreat Pench.
Nagpur - Stayed at The Travotel Suites, on airport road.
Take the Nagpur bypass and enter city from airport side.

Day - 2-3 Nagpur - Hyderabad - 7 hrs drive - 530 kms
Stayed extra days to explore Hyderabad.

30 odd kms near Hinganghat - Daroda is bad with diversion.
Stayed at Jublee hills.

Day - 4 Hyderabad - Bengaluru - 6.5 hrs of drive. - 570 kms
Awesome road to drive...

Total Toll paid - Rs 2700 approx
About 190 L of fuel @ Rs 11000 (approx)
Machine : Tata Safari.

This is very useful info. Thank you! Could you also recommended places to stop for fuel on this route? Especially the ones that accept credit cards.

Usually I prefer cash. I do ask for CC acceptability.
I have a simple policy of refilling from big cities which I pass through and where one can find lots of locals using the pump.

I fuelled at Agra, Lalitpur, Nagpur and Hyderabad.
I get a range of around 750 kms for a tank full.
