Hi,
Interesting route. And includes a section I have never been on!
Could you share your GPS trackplot please. (GPX preferred to kml)

Regards

Sutripta,

Here are the GPX files. 2.gpx covers Bardhaman to Bishnupur and 3.gpx covers Bishnupur to Kolkata via Mukutmanipur and Jhilimili. The Kolkata-Bardhaman part is absent as my GPS was offline during that section. Hope this helps.

Nice travelogue and pictures. I have never been able to go to these places, every time I get a few days leave I find myself in Darjeeling or Gangtok. What are those tires on your i10? Though I am not a fan of Hyundai, I must say that your ride looks good with those alloys and fat tires.

Yes, I too end up in Sikkim or Dooars whenever I get 4-5 days off. But these places are manageable over a regular weekend during winter months.

Those are Yokohama ES100 (185/60R14) on Plati alloys.

Re: Journey through the Wild West end of Bengal

I avoided Sonamukhi to save time. I took some village roads near Bedugram which I can't find in Google map. Similarly, I took some village routes from Mukutmonipur to Jhilimili. These too are absent in Google map. The end route is shown as through Vidyasagar Setu while in actual it was through Nivedita Setu. Apart from these, rest should match.

Ok. Ignore the Google map then.
