The Maha Map : All the places I've been to in Maharashtra

I created a custom Google map with placemarks of all the places i have been around Pune/Mumbai. Each placemark has a photo and a link to the post with details.
If you find locating places on map more interesting, have a look --> The Maha Map

Re: The Maha Map

Hello Rajaram,

Thank you.

That is a very good peice of information for Mumbai & Pune residents looking for a quick one or two day outing.

Have you personally visited most of these places? Can you publish further information like Accomodation & food arrangements?

Also post the Photographs you may have taken at any of these places.

But, once again, that you for this information.

Regards,

Re: The Maha Map

Jignesh, All the places marked are the ones i have been to. If you click on each of the placemarks, a small window opens up (the way google custom maps work) with a photo and also a link to the blog post with more details on that place.

Hello Rajaram,

It is indeed good to know that you have been to all the places listed above.

Infact I am planning a trip to Lonavala & Morachi Chincholi. Can you please tell me something more about Morachi Chincholi? I would like to know the following:

1. What would be best time of the year to visit this place?
2. It is mid may right now & should I wait till May end or mid-June so that there are rains & Peacocks are in full bloom?
3. Can I stay at Lonavala & visit this place for a day or to see Peacocks I will have to stay there over-night & see Peacocks during early morning?
4. What are the food & stay options there?

Thanks,

Re: The Maha Map : All the places I've been to in Maharashtra

1. Monsoon would be the best time for the peacocks and the greenery too
2. Better to wait for the start of the rains as the place would be dry and dusty now
3 & 4. Lonavala is totally in a diff direction. A day trip from Pune is good. During the monsoon, any time of the day would be good, but the best probability for peacock sighting is early in the day or during dusk. You do have many options of stay/food there. There are many agro-tourism resorts where u can walk in.

Fantastic Collage you have created Rajaram.

It indeed feels great to be surrounded by so many interesting places here in Pune. If you can add a bit more details on teh forum itself about driving condition etc...to the places would be even better.

Advaitlele, let me know if you want to know about any particular place and i will share the details. Just sharing info about all places might just make this thread a dumping ground.
