Would love to similar thread on Bhutan! You seem to be a teacher if I gathered right. That sounds like the only occupation a foreigner can have in a place like Bhutan!

Ten years down memory lane, retrieving anything significant for a T-Log is nearly an impossible task. Nevertheless, though it was a short stint, was definitely fun filled, simple and stress-free period of my life.

• The journey along narrow winding roads between Phuentsholing and Thimphu
• The smell of “Doma” all around
• The occasional drive to Wangduephodrang or Punakha or Phobjikha for friendly soccer tournaments to be part of,
• The taste of “Suja”
• The hot but my favourite “Emadatsi”
• The lovely and noisy Archery matches Bhutanese enjoy playing the whole day

are only a few, if I recollect.

Though the city is too congested, it is fun walking along those very well laid out payments at evenings. It’s wet most part of the year, otherwise I love my scroll, time permitted, until I get lost with the skylines around. At times I get lucky enough ending up discovering places like these.

Lovely photos as before. Its a timely reminder to demand more China travelogues from you. Maybe ice skating in Tianjin ?? Or a train journey to Urumqi ??

Blame it on the tight schedule most part of the year. When available anything close to 10 days, always flew back home.
Was contemplating on a short trip to Hainan since long.

There is a decent little park around a Budha temple adjacent to where I live these days. There also is a small lake surrounding this temple. Beautiful waters and fresh air.

I was in need of some information on life in China and how is it for an Indian to work there. From your blog, I got a decent idea about the day to day stuff.

By the way, could you please help me with following queries:

1. What type of visa one has to apply for 6 months stay for working at customer location?

2. Any info on cost of living in Yanliang (next to Xi´an)?

3. Are Indian citizens allowed to freely roam within China?

4. How is the current sentiment towards us desis (heard some resistance is there due to current Govt. policies)?
