From the Bhavani temple, the bus wound through to a scenic point on the banks of the Bhavani sagar backwaters. An half an hour break was announced and it was a mad rush for photo sessions on the banks.





While returning, went to the Emerald dam. Could not further down the dam as time was short and we turned back.













Lunch was at Nahar Sidewalk cafe with Wood fired pizza, burger, fries and soup. The pizzas were excellent. Some photos of the restaurant insides.















After lunch, one more round of shopping and then we were off to Coonor. The only place which we could visit was Sims park. Picked up some cheese from the Wild acres and headed back to the cottage. Entry is 30INR and camera charges are 50INR.

Some of pics from the Sims park. The trees are identified with a badge and denotes the year of planting the sapling. Trees dating more than 100 years ago can be found here. A pedal boat is available at 25INR with a max capacity of 4 persons/ boat. A fish feeding spot is also available here and fishes fall one over another to grab a bite of what is thrown into the water.

The day ended and on 04/10/13, we vacated the cottage and started our journey back to Bangalore. This time took the Gudalur route. The route is scenic except for the broken roads which seem to come up quite unexpectedly. A small stretch before Gudalur and Teppakaadu is all that can be termed very bad, but manageable. The return took a leisurely 9 hrs of driving with numerous stops in between.

Nice travelogue amply supported by pics which spoke in itself.

I visited Ooty in the month of July and it was a different Ooty with lot of fog and mist. Due to the same mist, we couldnt see anything from the Doddabetta peak. However, we loved the drive to the place, though the roads were next to non existent at places.
We couldnt visit the Avalanche and emerald lakes too due to paucity of time.

Saw this beautiful Lamby parked near Charring cross, the owner did not return even after 20 minutes and I moved on.
