Its been a long time since I have clicked and has been much longer since I went to a National Park but for your photographs, the fire is burning again. A superb set of photographs would be an understatement. The first frame is like a dream shot for a site like TBHP. Loved the way you have framed the environment with the subjects. Thanks a lot for the posts.

I had been to the Tadoba Tiger Reserve and the ambiance and the tranquility inside the jungle was so beautiful. I would love to go again on such trips.

Thank you so much. Every jungle has its own charm. Tadoba is one forest where one can see variety of Carnivore i.e., Leopard, wild dog, sloth Bear and off course tiger.

Thank you so much. Hyena sightings during the time of our visit was tricky. Actually, annual grass cutting was going on, so things were little disturbed. Hyena's had left their den and shifted somewhere else. I saw one Wolf on the wetland side of Velavadar. Could not get a shot as it disappeared fast.

One day trip from Gir to Velavadar is possible, but is neither recommended nor suggested. Velavadar is near to Bhavnagar. Try to stay at 'Blackbuck Lodge'. Its the best option there. If you are driving, a small suggestion, from Gir take the Coastal highway through Una to Bhavnagar & visit Alang.

Thank you Nilanjan Sir. I bought 300 f/2.8 in May 2012. New addition is the 5D MK III in November 2013. The noise handling capacity is just superb in this camera body compared to my earlier 7D.

Do visit this park, you will enjoy for sure.

Subrat, Your 1st pic is absolutely stunning. did you have to wait for the shot or was it spur of the moment. Either way, the whole picture set has turned to be some lovely wildlife photography.. Did you use a prime lens here?

Sorry if i missed it anywhere, but the vehicle in the very 1st picture looks like a toyota FJ40. Was this an official safari vehicle? Haven't seen anything similar in any Indian jungle/national park.

Thank you so much. I just entered the park after 12 hours of driving from Mumbai. We saw a group of Blackbuck grazing. Suddenly, I saw they are moving and coming to cross the road. With my little study/research before the trip was that if one moves then entire group follows. They just fly while crossing the road. I was lucky to be at the right time at the right place. Everything was perfect i.e., angle, light and the quality of winter light. Yes, I have used prime lens Canon 300 f/2.8 with 2X TC III.

The first snap was epic. Even getting the hyenas in such a manner should have been either luck or a tough job.
