Wonderful news!
And for me, comes at the right time. I have been pondering over how to crawl over to these falls once again after my last visit. This move will help tourism too a great deal and many enthusiasts.

Due to heavy rain, entry to Dudhsagar waterfall stopped
TIMES NEWS NETWORK

Panaji:

Entry to the Dudhsagar waterfall has been stopped due to heavy rainfall during the last few days. Entry to the iconic waterfall was recently reopened for visitors post the monsoon period, on October 2. Now, visitors have been warned against visiting the tourist spot due to overflowing rivers flooding the road.

“The safety of visitors is a top priority for us. We cannot let tour operators risk the lives of the visitors and take them on a dangerous journey to the waterfall. We have therefore stopped tour operations to Dudhsagar for the time being,” said the deputy conservator of forests, Vikas Desai.

Officers from the Molem range forest office said that the water level had crossed the danger mark in the river basin thus making it tough for the vehicles to be taken through. A branch of the Dudhsagar waterfall, the river has experienced a swelling owing to heavy rain in the area over the past few days, they said.

On a normal day, 170 trips to the waterfall are recorded by the office. This had increased to 240 trips from last week onwards and continued to be so until Friday. On Saturday however, only 220 trips could be undertaken which further reduced to approximately 200 vehicles on Sunday.

Incessant rain had however already caused a water level rise thus making trips on Monday morning difficult. Nine vehicles had left the range forest office for the tour but had to return midway owing to the river water spilling onto the roads and causing a flood.

“The water level was very high at the first river crossing itself and they could not navigate through the four km stretch. They had to turn back from there before undertaking the second river crossing,” said range forest officer, Paresh Porob.

After heavy rain showers lashed the area at noon, forest officials decided to suspend the operations altogether.

Re: All you need to know about Dudhsagar Falls

Need help to plan our visit to Dudhsagar in June, thinking of an afternoon/evening start from Bangalore with multiple drivers

Plan is to reach Dudhsagar and take the 4x4 Jeep. Would it be better to trek as a group?

Questions:
1. Recommendations for stay - is Dudhsagar jungle resort good?
2. Where to hire the jeep from, any other pointers/tips
Alternatively, where to start the Trek from ?
3. Would it be possible to include a train ride also to the Dudhsagar falls station? From where to board the train? Park at Mollem or Castle Rock and board?

My trip was to Goa and we planned to visit Dudhsagar on a day trip. We reached the place from where the trek starts, only to be stopped by forest department cops since water level was rising due to rains. We had to head back but saving grace was we could drive up to the Tambdi Surla temple and it was simply amazing. There’s also the Tambdi surla waterfall that’s a 2-3 km trek from the temple, but we didn’t do it.

Saw news that the falls entry needs ticket now. Do note that this is for view from bottom of the railway bridge. Entry to top of the bridge / railway lane is not allowed not.

Each registered jeep operator with the Forest Department carries approximately seven passengers, charging INR 500 per passenger, resulting in a total of INR 3500 per journey.
However, there was another news too on rush and confusion

Quote:
“Why does one have to stand in a long queue for hours to buy tickets and that too after booking the trip online? If a token number is given, the same can be displayed on a screen or announced and the person can wait in a sitting area. Once the token number is flashed or announced, he or she can go and buy the ticket.”
Adil said the counter personnel are very slow at issuing tickets. “I came in at 11 am. Almost half of my day is already gone. Out of my schedule of eight days, I have lost one day because today I will be doing only Dudhsagar. Once I come back from the waterfall it will be evening,” he rued.
