Leh - In a Maruti 800

Fantastic! This brings back memories of my family's trip to Leh last August. We did Delhi-Srinagar-Leh-Manali-Delhi with 4 on-board. In an Alto K10. That was one great adventure, that we all cherish. People still refuse to believe me, at which point I have to show them this pic.

Kudos to you and your friend for the determination to do this with your M7700!

We had a similar 97 model till 2012. Living in kolkata we had a PB registered M800 and that was the vehicle I learnt to drive in. Feels really good to see an incredibly well maintained 800. Sweet alloys and a re-built engine I understand. Great job

I wanted to replace my 2007 SX4(67000Kms on Odo) before I take up my trip from Hyderabad to Leh but this post has changed my mind. Kudos for the drive.

Brilliant travelogue and lovely photos ambarshante. You did a great job. I am so much inspired by your journey that I am planning to do Leh trip in my Swift. I am planning a Kolkata -Delhi-Leh trip for a long time. The more I go through the threads, my confidence level increases many folds. I hope finally when I do such trip, I will get enough support and help from you guys.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Great write up and you are truly an inspiration.

Maruti 800 was always a great puller owing to light weight and was a favorite among the hill station taxi crowd. Great to see how well you have maintained the car.
