Leave Pune on this day no later than 0500AM. This will make you cross Mumbai - Thane by 0800AM with not much traffic. Have done that multiple times driving towards GJ or DL.

Ideally, stick to Expressway - Turbhe - Thane-Belapur Road - Airoli Bridge - Easter Expressway - Thane - Ghodbunder - Vasi Creek Bridge - NH8: Despite of mixed road conditions near Uran and Turbhe, you will not really find this difficult to cross between 0715-0800AM.

Rest of your itinerary looks OK and needs no specific mending.

The roads are good through out. You would also love Udaipur - Abu Road - Palanpur sector passing through the Aravalis.

EDIT:

Would also suggest you to have a look at this detailed post of mine posted elsewhere on how to avoid the jams between Ankleshwar and Bharuch:

Also, have a look these threads to get more insight. These mainly refer to Bangalore - Rasjathan

Thank you , I cant leave Pune before 9.30 AM , I have to meet a person between 8.30 am to 9.30 Am at Pune. So I feel , follow timuseravan suggestion : I would recommend you to take the Katraj exit at expressway, then onto Murbad, Shahapur, Wada and rejoin the normal route at Manor. This increases the distance by about 50km but you completely avoid the traffic nightmare of navi mumbai and Thane. The detour route is good for most part.

Yes 2nd Nov will be bit tight, but I have to reach back Bangalore on 5th Nov 2016. I had plans to skip Jodhpur , but my wife says she wants to see Jodhpur too. ( Have to obey home minister order). So thinking of visiting only the fort in Jodhpur. I have covered almost 58K in my car in 4 years , meantime I dont want to strain too much.

You could still take the Panvel - Navi Mumbai - Airoli - Thane option as suggested before because it is around this time while I reply when you will cross Mumbai if you depart from Pune at 0930AM.

Crossing Mumbai is not a major pain unless you are driving along with peak hour traffic in the same direction like them and its easier too.

You don't really have to worry on refueling options in Gujarat, especially Bombay - Ahmedabad section.

Please tank up at Expressway fueling station.

A huge complex with multiple eating options along with BPCL, before Navasari (Look out for signage "Sugar N Spice"

A refill on expressway should be safe till Vadodara anyway but in case you run short, the second option above works.

Regarding places to eat - I say this time and again - Mumbai - GJ is a food highway and you will have 100s of "Good choices" all the way. Don't worry at all.

And I do hope that you are sticking to Vadodara - Godhra - Modasa route to hit Udaipur from Vadodara and skipping Ahmedabad.

Sorry, I beg to differ. Crossing Mumbai would still be faster if you leave Pune by 9.30 a.m. Infact you would be crossing Mumbai during non peak hours. 30th October is Sunday and mid of Diwali, so most likely half of the Mumbaikars will already be chilling out in their natives. Navi Mumbai and Thane traffic wouldn't be that bad around 11.30-1300. Choice is yours though

I am sure you had a typo there - Its Karjat and not Katraj. But anyways, the Khopoli-- Karjat--Murbad option is good for Pune--Nasik isn't it ? It will be too circuitous for heading GJ in my honest opinion.

Re: Bangalore to Rajasthan : 2 week road-trip in a Fiat Punto

Thank you Vivek95 and paragsachania, I'll stick to the route mentioned by you here. I'm new to this route, it would be my first road trip to Gujarat and Rajastan. I stayed in Mumbai almost for a year but it was in 2003.

paragsachania sent me many links, still I have not yet finished all the threads. Thank you, very informative threads, I'll update once I finish this trip. Most of the time, my trips were within Karnataka, Tamilnadu , Kerala and Hyderabad.

After reading some travelogues ,now I have some idea about the roads till Vododara from Bangalore, But I have to understand Vododara to Udaipur (Vadodara-Halol-Godhra-Modasa-Ratanpur-Udaipur), Udaipur to Jodhpur, Jodhpur to Mount abu and Mount abu to Ahmedabad.

Route 2 is 4 laned throughout and will be the fastest route, even though some extra distance.

We took Udaipur-Jaswantgarh-Kumbalgarh-Ranakpur-Bali-Sanderao-Pali-Jodhpur as we wanted to visit Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh on the way.

Fuel stations are not a problem, but finding good restaurants on the highways in Rajasthan won't be easy - it's mostly dhabas you'll find.
