I think we can use below device for burst shot with timer mode.

This device has a mechanical lock(plastic) for the shutter, which can keep the shutter pressed as long as you want, which could enable the burst mode and keep the camera going.

P.S. I have the MC DC2 with me.

I would not suggest this route for the bikers. Bone jarring ride. Though the road "looks" good, its very difficult to ride on. For four wheers - it should be ok. i did this sometime back with my friends and we were down for 3 days with back pain. After a few months hoping the roads would be better, we did it again on the bike, it was equally bone-jarring :(

The route from Karamadai is even worse. If really this needs to be taken, kottathara is better.
