Odisha: 9 day road-trip in a Hyundai Creta

Lovely travelogue. Thanks for highlighting Odisha, (although yours is really a half AP, half Odisha T log !) a state which is often bypassed in travels and which has much to offer for the serious traveller. Yours will be a nice reference for those planning a trip there.

Wonderful way in which you have concluded your travelogue. Sheer class.

A totally unconventional yet beautiful journey. Kudos to the courage to take time out and finish this unique drive. Beautiful pics complement this trip. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for these pics. Brings back lots of memories. I was in Orissa for 2 years earlier days of my career. Good place & lots of great friends. We visited Puri, Konark, Satpada in a Tavera. It was a nice road trip.

How come you didnt visit Satpada? I got to see the dolphins when I visited there. Boating was a very good experience for all of us.

Those are some amazing pictures ! I am keen to know how the Creta performed during your travel. Did you face any issues with the brakes like brake-wrapping and the overall performance.

No issues overall. Brakes - I always prepare for the extra braking distance. And when the road is gravely with slopes - the car occasionally gets confused- I turn off the traction control then and it manoeuvre like I want to. Excellent drive comfort. The boot turned out to be a wee bit smaller for the number of days and people onboard.

Beautiful narration and picturesque images. I could relate some part of the journey as we recently covered Jirang Monastery and Chilka for our Hyderabad -West Bengal Durga Puja trip few weeks back .
Orissa is a beautiful state with a lots to explore. Unknown reasons have keep travellers aloof from this naturally beautiful place. Eastern Ghats come to its own in this state.

Chilka , we stayed at Rambha
Never saw dolphins due to local fishing boats and their locally made props that scare away the school.

Absolutely. There are many hidden gems. Missed the Jirang monastery though
