Lava hold a special place in most of Bengalis' heart. Three years back we had stayed at place Samabeyong Tea Garden . Lava is around 20 mins by car from that place. Old styled tea bungalow with a crackling fire place and great food. They even arranged for a picnic by the river side and it was a great time which we shared. Your travelogue brought back those memories.

You mentioned that you had travelled in May - so was it May 2020?

If yes, did you require any vehicle passes while entering/exiting districts? What precautions did you take? Did you have any contigency plan, if there was sudden lockdown enforced again etc.?

It's my mistake, I should have mentioned the year. It was May 2019, last year.
This year no trips as of now.

Thanks for clarifying SVK Rider!
When the lockdown was first lifted WBFDC/TDC had opened up their hotels. Hence thought your trip would have been an eye opener for us.

Given the current situation, I dont think any trip is very unlikely this year for me :(

Nice travelogue and crisply written. After going through your travelogue Lava is definitely in my bucket list once the lockdown and pandemic is over. Would like to request you for the contact details of WBFDC.

Beautiful Photographs and a crisp travelogue. brought back some fond memories from a trip few of us bhpians from Assam had undertaken in 2016 to North Bengal and East Sikkim. We also happened to stay at the WBFDC lodge at Lava and the view from the cottages were just amazing.

Thank you very much. Every-time I visit Lava i make sure to stay on WBFDC only. The food and staying experience have always been superb.
