| Valentine’s Eve in Tong Camp, Purulia Since January second week, two of my friends Sabyasachi, Samit and myself were planning to visit a beautiful place which is nearby and can be covered during weekend. At the same time we three wanted to gift some special experiences to our respective better halves on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. Accordingly, having collective research done, we fixed the place and that was Matha Bari Purulia. The booking of accommodation was a real struggle. We contacted all the properties in Sankupi however all of them was booked. After desperate search we could find out Tong Camp which was in a bit interior from the Purulia Baghmundi Road Date of Journey: 14th February, 2021 Team: Venue- Myself and my wife Meghna, Sabyasachi and his wife Sriparna i20- Samit and his family Route: Jamshedpur-Katin-Barabazar-Balarampur-Sonkupi-Tong camp The Silver Beauty  We four starting from our home at 6.30 in the morning. We had a great breakfast at Barabazar with homemade cake, Aloor Chop and Chaay.  Reached the famous Pakhi Pahar by 9.15 am. An exemplary art work by respected Chitta Dey!   The road towards Tong camp is very scenic and through the foot hill of Matha Buru and Kuku Buru Hills. This narrow hilly road would definitely give a taste of off-roading When we reched the Tong Camp we were really over whelmed with scenic beauty and tranquility of that place.  The Real tree house. There are three!  The large Swiss tent  The view of Kuku Buru Hills from our tent  Cousins are taking rest under the tree  We were greeted with Spicy “Jhaal Muri” and Chaay  Lip-smacking lunch at the camp  Another view from the Tong Camp  After lunch we travelled to Khairabera Dam. Believe me the view is magnificent!    We two    Sunset from Khairabera  The entire Team  While returning back we stopped in Charida, popularly known as “Mukhos (Mask) Village”  The illuminated Tong Camp in the evening     Evening soup was so tempting!  Must have Bone fire and Tandoor    |

| Valentine’s Eve in Tong Camp, Purulia Sunrise and Kuku Buru     Our tent   Meghna and Sriparna: Realaxing  Roaming through the jungle   After having delicious breakfast we checked out and started for Ajodhya Pahar   View of Kesto bazar lake  Cousins parked in the slope  At the upper dam  The Silver Beauty is posing!    Through the curvy hill top road   On the way to Marble lake  The picturesque Marble lake  Twisty roads through Ajodhya Pahar     After coming down from Ajodhya Hill we decided to have lunch from Sonkupi Café. That was a sumptuous lunch! A view of Matha Buru and Kuku Buru from the Café  Baghmundi- Purulia Road through Matha Forest  The return journey was uneventful and we reached Jamshedpur by 5.30 in the evening. |
