The current generation of Thar comes only with 4x4 ( as of now). However there is a strong speculation that there might be a 1.5L Thar with RWD configuration.

And here is the link for the Part#3 of the Video series.

Sandakphu, at a height of about 12,000 feet, is the tallest peak in West Bengal. It’s almost pilgrimage for trekkers and the view from up top is unparalleled. It’s famous for the magnificent view of the entire Kanchenjunga/K2 range (christened The Sleeping Buddha) especially during the winter months in Q4. Even though we were not too lucky in that aspect, the view at dawn was mesmerizing nevertheless.

Awesome travelogue and feels so good to see the SUVs in their habitat. Surprisingly I have never seen this version of Yeti before, looks quite handsome.
You've mentioned Kanchenjunga/K2 and if I'm not wrong they are both different, K2 is the second highest peak and is located in POK.

Re: From Bangalore, in search of the Sleeping Buddha

Thank you & you're right: Kanchenjunga range is what we were able to view from Sandakphu, not K2.

Wow. What a spell binding travelogue! As soon as I opened it. it had me glued; and finished it in one sitting. Wish I could finish my office work so enthusiastically

Many thanks for sharing this with us and wishing you many many more miles.

Great travelogue Debayan. Wonderfully penned down with beautiful pictures. Good that you took decision of not taking the Yeti to the top looking at the circumstances. In 2016, when there were no roads above Chitrey, I had gone till Tumling & returned since it had started raining heavily.

Cheers,
Pawan

Re: From Bangalore, in search of the Sleeping Buddha

Lovely narration, pictures and videos @nerd1200 and @soumobakshi! I can never get bored with travelogues on Sandakphu. It was a good decision not to take the Yeti till Sandakphu.

I cannot stop myself from posting a few pictures when it comes to Sandakphu

So a couple of pictures of my beloved White Tusker taken almost a decade back -

Always love your pictures..
I'll definitely visit once again to experience the mesmerizing Sleeping Buddha range in it's entirety and to go all the way to Phalut.

Also, I think these are the first picture of this particular stretch I've seen unpaved. Kudos to you for having explored the region when the going was much tougher than what we narrate.
