Two Days & One Night in C'nagar District forests !!! Paradise...

Well this travelogue was pending for a long time... just didnt get the time to pen it down.

This happened just after the CBE track day ( 1st & 2nd Oct ), On the way back from CBE ( 30th Sep ) we took the Sathyamangalam route and i was dropped off at Chamarajnagar where i met up with my other friends who had come there to join me for the trip. The trip included an overnight stay at the forest guest house at a place called Budhi Padaga inside the forest.

30th Sep

I meet up with my friends at C'nagar at my parents' place at around 12am. we have dinner, chat for a while discussing the plan for the next two days and go to sleep as we have to get up early and leave to the forest. They were supposed to come in a friend's car and found out that they had come by Bus due to unwavailability of the car. so had to arrange for a vehicle to take us to the forest.

1st Oct

We wake up at 8am and start getting ready, while my friends are getting ready i go speak to the Forest officer who has arranged this trip for us as he had come to brief us about the plan. After discussing the plan with him i tell him that we dont have a vehicle to travel for which he says we could use his vehicle.

Took some pics around the house...

The plan : Leave C'Nagar after getting ready, reach the guest house at Budhi Padaga, get freshned and after having lunch go to a place called Jodigere ( Jodi Kere ) meaning twin lakes/ponds about 5-10 kms away. After spending sometime there get back to the guest house for dinner, have dinner, sleep and in the morning get up and go see a place called Honmetti again about 10kms away but opp direction to Jodigere. Return to the guest house, have lunch and leave to C'Nagar and then leave to Bangalore the same evening.

We leave C'Nagar after having Breakfast and proceed towards the Sathyamangalam ghats, reach a check post where we have to take a diversion into the forest.

Some pics on the way...

My Fav pic...

We Finally reach the guest house and put our luggage in our rooms.
This guest house has no electricity at all ( Nor does the surrounding area )

Some pics around the guest house.

After Having lunch, we head towards Jodigere.

The forest official opening the lock...

Infact, I am sitting in his house right now and persuading him to take us there a day prior to the next track day I am planning. What a fun weekend that would be.

you'll have to go through Chamarajnagar towards Sathyamangalam, you'll get a Checkpost where you have to take deviation to the left. Budhipadaga is about 15-20 kms from there.

All this is reserve forest hence you'll need permission to enter.

You Just have to ask Tadu ... Its not advisable to go during the rains as you wont be able to enjoy the Scenery there, plus you'll get bitten by Leeches. Best to be visited when the sky is clear.

Trust me the place is way better than what it looks like in the pics...

Thought about it long back, Problem would be of accomodation. One guest house there and it cannot accomodate more than 10 people. There are two rooms with 2 single beds in each room & attached Toilets in each room. one hall where 4 people can sleep ( on the floor, No Cots !!! ).

Let me see if something can be arranged, then we can have a meet there.

How far it is from Bangalore?

Hi! Real good photos!

How do you reach this place? I mean how far is this place from Bangalore or any other major cities/towns in South India?

Regards

The Building you see in the 3rd post is indeed a guest house, Its a private guest house that is inside the Attikan Estate. Was available for rent earlier, have stopped renting it out now. very beautiful guest house with a very nice lawn and a nice view on the outside...

I believe this is what you are referring to....
