Hyderabad Nagpur Hyderabad Trip in Palio Stil 1.6

Its a 490 kms one way and estimated time of 12 hours according to MapmyIndia.com Online maps, GPS Navigation, Driving Directions, Local Search.

We checked the fluid levels and vehicles condition.

First servicing was complete a month back and it was all fit for the trip.

I filled up the tank and left from Hyderabad at 4AM on 19th Jan 2008 and reached Nagpur by 2PM same day.

Its pretty good road but not a perfect road. Its NH7, half of it was under construction.

Since we started off early we did not had a lot of traffic to deal with.

Sun was raising and I halted for a while(around 15 mins) to capture that moment.

We reacehd Adilabad by 9AM had breakfast there, that was a 30 mins stop. I once again checked the fluid levels and observed this.

According to my observation road in Maharashtra was not as good as it was in Andhra.
Found lot of "Ber ke ped" in Cotton fields on the way so stoped by to pick few Ber and found this pretty interesting setup in one of the cotton field.

Clicked the following pics at the same place.

But as we left HinganGhat and neared Roads got better. Even though half of the roads were incomplete

It would have been pretty good trip had this road was completed. Wonder how long will these guys take to complete this construction.

From this point on it was pretty smooth ride.

Touched a top speed of 140kms/hr.

As we reached the destination the Trip meter read 513kms and consumed 34 liters.

What I have observed that there are lot of Stile 1.6 on Nagpur road quite opposite to Hyderabad.

Took rest for 1 and half day and left on 21st 6:45AM. Tought would get the tank filled once I leave the city. I was looking for HP outlet so that I can get a off on surcharge on my ICICI card. To my shock there were just couple of them and both of them did not accept cards. So I got just 10 liters a time. As I said road was fine till HinganGhat. And traffic was on higher side as compared to on our way towards Nagpur.

But I was lucky enough to come across a traffic free stretch where I touched top speed of 148kms/hr captured it on my Phone.

Other than this there was no other stretch where I managed to cross 110kms/hr speed.

We reached Adilabad by 12:30pm (almost 6 hours) as against 5hrs on our way to Nagpur.

There are couple of Ghat sections that fall between Adilabad and Nirmal.

Some changes are been made to one section known as Nirmal Ghat.

We found lot on monkeys on our way to Nagpur but on our way back there were very few, may be because of traffic.

As we moved a head traffic intensity increased towards Hyderabad and had to maintain the speed between 80s and 90s.

as we reached Hyderabad outskirts(read it as 100kms) I came across 2 particular drivers who were agressive a Silver Zen and a Black Swift VXI. I managed to keep both of them behind me. When I came across that Swift guy luck that road was pretty good. I touched speed of 125. But then I had to let him go :( as I didnt want to push my car for long time. Once he(Black Swift) crossed droped down my speen and slowly cruzed along.

Reached home by 7:30.

It turned out to be a 1140kms trip

Good Report. Few Doubts

Nice report and good pics.

Few doubts :
  1. Did you manage 1140 Kms in a day ? Were you traveling all day from 4AM ?
  2. What FE you got on your Palio
  3. Was this a recreation trip or a visit on a purpose ?

LOL. How did you travel 1140 kms in a day? Did you give any breaks in between or you just kept on driving? If yes, then it is too risky to try this kind of stunt. Take care.

BTW, nice report and pics.

Where as I used AC for almost 5 hours while on my way back to Hyderabad. Mileage: 14-15

Chyawanprash for concentration power, thats fine. Whats the solution for overlooking things(dont think chyawanprash will help).
