Yes, you are right. I too do this usually when I reach the BP bunk / A2B near the Krishnagiri.

Btw, 12kmpl is it common? Since it was mostly highway, I thought it should be more. But may be due to the ghats section travelled?

Small trip to Yercaud. I dont want to start a all new thread. Just Hooking my travel with some other's
travelouge. Let me tell you first the route that I have travelled with some Pic.
Bangalore-Hosur-DenKaniKotta-Panjapalli-Marandahalli Town-XYZ(Dont rem, here we take right and Join the SH)-Palakkodu-Dharmapuri-Salem-Yercaud.
Yercaud-Salem-Dharmapuri-Krishnagiri-Hosur-Bangalore.
Total Distance Covered :550 KM.

My Experience to Yercaud Trip from Bangalore

Total Kms - 480kms (To and Fro)
Car - Aveo LS
Date - 3/3/11
Hotel - Shevaroys International (Dahliya Room)

Yercaud is really nice place for one night stay, but very important to know weather during the visit. The good part all the tourist places are very nearby so lots of time to relax.

Driving Experience - this is my 1st long trip after I purchased this car from my friend, car is very sturdy maintained speed limit of 80-100kms and only few times touched 120kms. Toll road is excellent except few streches including hill area.

Bangalore - Hosur - Krishnagiri - Dharmapuri - Salem - Yercaud.

Note: After hosur till the 1st Toll gate (near krishnagiri) please drive bit slow because some rough patches, till 1st toll gate is accident prone area. also while coming back be careful because lots of small villages....I already met with major car accident in my wagon-R last july near shoolagiri when brake failed lorry hit my car but luckily no major injuries but car severly damaged and disposed through Insurance and even while returning today, I observed...Lancer hit the tanker lorry... and one van got toppled

Tourist places visited - Boat house, Rose Garden, Anna park, Shevaroy temple, Deer park

If you are visiting Anna park then no need to visit Rose Garden because not much there to see, more roses are in Anna park. Boat house is good, Deer park is very small place, just some birds and 3 deer in total, cave temple is good.

Hotel Experience - hotel location is good, food was ok - south indian food is better , rooms are fine...more you pay better ambience. room service was quick, balconies are not good. lots of other facilities massage parlour, physio center, Gym, super market, etc
