Sivasamudram trip query?

Hello all,

My friend and I are planning to go for a one day drip in my 98 model Zen to Sivasamudram falls this week. I have the following queries:
1. Is this the right time to go there in terms of water in falls, greenery,
crowd
2. Is the 95k done Zen good enough to handle the roads (been hearing
roads are not very good)

Need advice from experienced folks please.

The roads did you say ,well they are in shambles once you deviate from Mysore road and regarding the crowd, you really cant do much.

If he goes there inspired by the pics and, if it does not look anything like the pictures, he would want a reimbursement for the trip from you.

The pics look great.

Hi,
I went to Shivansamandram in July, The road until Maddur is good [90-120KMPH] , after that You have to take Left turn and Roads [There are no road at all] . I took mine one month old Swift V XI.. was able to do mostly in 1st or 2nd gear. Try to visit talkadu too[30 Km from shivansamandra]
1. Don't forget to take extra wheel [ I went without any spare one]
2. Beware of Hump in village, It might harm your car.
3. Road would be dusty , Bring your food- or you can get at Talkadu @10 INR per plate. Wow yummy food

Hi,

I visited Shivanasamudra on 14th Sep 2008. Roads upto Maddur is great, Maddur to Malavalli and Malavalli - Shivanasamudram is with intermittent stretches of decent and bad stretches. Let this not be a deterrent for you to visit Shivanasamudram and enjoy the beauty of the falls.

See my post on this trip

Shivanasamudra (gaganachukki and Barchukki) are the best spots after Jog Falls for a water spot. The pics of rjstyles already depicts that.
The mysore road is where you can rip your car to the max and then yeah after malavalli cross you will have to start go on a tortoise-way. Will have to be slow and move across all the potholes.

Jus off the topic, why do lot of people think that the snaps put here are downloaded from some web. There are Soooo NICE photographers around in this forum buddy (gogo).

. You have totally derived a wrong meaning from my post. What i meant was the photos look too good and make the place look fantastic and was a compliment to the photographer. I was not doubting the authenticity of the pictures.

Shivanasamudram will be packed till the neck on a public holiday so it's best avoided on such days. Better to go on a normal weekend.

OT : Arghhhh, I really would suggest that don't rip the car to max at Mysore Road, it's not safe at all to do so.

Mods: Probably this thread can be moved to the route and travel queries section.

@Sowmya- I regret not seeing your note before I went to Sivasamudram. Had a horrible ride to Talakad. More updates along with pics later.
