I think its time for us to goto bidadi this weekend for just 'thatte idlis' and near by dam.

@ Maddy42,Srini and Rajeev,
We can actually do an early morning drive to either Bidadi or Kyathsandra soon, pls put the idea across in the meet section.

I would like to be a game for this plan too. Ah the thatte idli in bidadi is a mouthwatering thingi for me for sure.

where in bidadi? havent come across any in bidadi...

Once you cross the Bidadi bridge, to the right in the corner there is a Hotel named "Military tatte Idli"

Sowmya, I know the route till Lakkavalli, am not sure about the roads after this.

Hey, nice travelogue, somehow I missed it. Did you say Hassan-Nelamangala road was crowded, I have never seen that before, that is scary.

Damn, I have never had tatte idlys until now.

we ,here in kerala call eastern sahyadri as "Malanad" for eg: Idukki,palakkad,malappuram,pathanamthitta,wayanad, kasaragode districts.it seems our tuluva neighbours also call the same.

That is right, although it is the Kannadigas who call it Malenadu. Tuluvas just say ghatta.

Samurai, it is not unusual on Sunday evenings specially when you are passing Hassan BP at 6-6:30PM. I have seen this crowd (10-12 cars in line all doing about 80kmph right from Hassan BP to Neelamangala).

Infact I faced that crowd while my return of Saligrama as well.
