Hyderabad-Kurnool-Hyderabad and places around Kurnool

Happen to do this trip between 27-Feb-09 and 03-Mar-09.

Initially had a plan to drive down hyd-kakinada-vizag-hyd, but 10 days before to that date had to cancel the trip and instead drove to kurnool to drop my wife and son at in-laws place and also leave my car there and then leave to Vizag by train.

Started at 6.30 am from Miyapur(hyd), my Swift Dzire VDI boot is fully loaded with luggage of 4 adults and 1.5yr old kid.

From miyapur reached gachibowli and took on to outer ring road from there to shamshabad connecting to NH7, need to mention that the road was breeze here. Did some excellent speeds with ac on, covered 160 kms in frist 2 hrs and remaining 65kms in next 1hr.
Total distance was 225kms, total time taken 3hrs without break. Road was excellent all the way from hyderabad to almost beyond pebbar if I am not worng. Road work is still going on on some stretches before kurnool.

One toll is already operational after Shadnagar with charge of Rs.40 one way for car.

Before leaving to vizag from kurnool we covered Mantralayam which is 90kms from Kurnool and Alampur which is 25kms from Kurnool.

Following are some pictures of hyderabad kurnool road, I took these picture while returning back to hyderabad. These picture are taken between Jadcheral and Shamshabad.

Kurnool - Alampur - Kurnool

Later in the evening on the same day we went to Mantralayam which is 90kms from kurnool, roads were better when compared to our last vist in 2008. Couldnt take any pictures enroute.

Next day we went to Alampur to visit Jogulamba temple, this is my 3rd visit to this temple. I first visited this in 2007 later in 2008 and now in 2009.

Alampur - Alampur is the meeting point of the sacred rivers Tungabhadra and Krishna and is referred to as Dakshina Kashi(also known as Navabrahmeshwara Theertha) and the Western Gateway of Srisailam, the famous Shaivite (Shaivism) pilgrim centre. The principal deities at Alampur are Brahmeshwara and Jogulamba. It is surrounded by the Nallamalai Hills. Alampur is situated on the left bank of the Tungabhadra river.

It is also known or Alampur Navabhrama Temples, these are total of nine temples, all of them are dedicated to Shiva. These temples date back to the 7th century A.D.

This road is narrow single lane, when ever you come accross any other vehicle in the opposite direction both them have to get down half the road and all of them do this, but I noticed that auto's will not do that inspite they stick to road and dont even break and force you to get down almost completely of the road so beware of auto's.

Hey, your photo links ain't working.

BTW, Jadcherla presents a new business opportunity for entrepreneurs---one can open a good dhaba on the roadside, that can be used during regular Team-bhp drives.

Nice trip there. The road from Samshabad to Zadcharla is really cool. Last time we were pushing our bikes well past 130 on this road.

The links to the pics are not working.
