MARUTI GYPSY - RIDES OVER ANYTHING WITH EASE! I'VE DEVELOPED A RESPECT FOR THIS VEHICLE NOW.

And here's the man behind the wheels of the beast during our visit to Sikkim.

I had been there three years back, but as a general tourist. The max we did was till the Nathula pass. We did no do other escapades.

A cap of this info, outside Gangtok, would be useful along with road info as well.

My summary: Sikkim is much better place to visit than Darjeeling.

BTW: Great views. Reminds me of the times, I was there.

You ride an army Gypsy with a red light on the roof? Well, please tell us more about it. Did you drive it too? And do tell us about the driving experience, the route and road conditions, the places you stopped at, the time taken, and all the other sundry details. We look forward to an interesting travelogue.

Here is a trivia. When you drive from Siliguri to Gangtok, you follow the river Teesta, which is really majestic.

What's more surprising is that there is a Manipal institution (the same Karnataka establishment) on the banks of the river somewhere in between. An amazing location for college.

You can have daily treks (provided no exams/assignments for the next day).
Tea on the riverbanks and what not !

Thank You guys for all your replies. Will reply to them in detail along with the report this weekend.

Quickly..

Am a civilian and I didn't get to drive the Gypsy:(

The Red Beacon Light was never switched on, even when the Dy Commander (Who's car it is) was in the Car. May be they use it only for specific purposes as intended.

DSLR?? No pls, I don't know to even use one! Just a Sony Cybershot
