@nc: we did not do tremmelbech for want of time. But we went to rhinefalls.
The penultimate day of the trip, we packed off from interlaken and took the train to zurich. It was drizzling pretty heavily when we reached there. we were to stay in hotel xtra. reached hotel. again started out, not sure what to do. I wanted to cycle, whereas wifey wanted to visit Rhinefalls. But then with the rain not abating, we decided against cycling and caught the train to winterthur. From winterthur we had to change platforms and catch the train to schlaf hausen. We bought the tickets for the falls.
It was a narrow trail to reach the bank, and there were viewpoints at various locations. From the bank, we took a boat to reach the foot of the falls. From there we had to climb a series of steps to reach a height from where we could have a close and good view of the majestic rhine river gushing down.
After spending some time there, we caught the retun train back to winterthur and from there to zurich. We then kept on walking the various streets checking out if there were any interesting places to drop in. The one downside is, there were not much people on the roads. Just cars whizzing by. You are all by yourself and at times it was a little unnerving.
After walking for more than 2 hrs, we had our last dinner in switzerland in a nice little italian restaurant. taken at zurich station rhine falls
we were standing next to the vestibule in the train when a massive head popped up over the vestibule door. Went to the next compartment and took this pic
