I have been asked many times if we were the only couple doing the Mughal Road Rally. No there was on other couple Suneil & Rajni. They were driving the Grand Vitara XL V6

There was another male+female team in a Bolero. Surprising only because it was one of two 2WD vehicles allowed by organisers in what was supposed to be only a 4WD affair. The other was an Innova!! Which got timed out when they developed a radiator leak. However to their credit they finished the entire route by driving through even though behind the rally. Bolero finished creditably.

See the school children waving and clapping as the "rally" car passes through. It was really amazing to see their excitement and enthusiasm. The picture was taken from the Innova.

Have already written about the officials and how they are prepared for all eventualities. Can you beat this? In middle of nowhere having your young one do her lessons sitting on a bean bag and using a laptop???!!!

Sure manolin contact the rally organisers and offer your "services". It will help if you own a 4x4 vehicle or at least a vehicle with high G.C.

The call for volunteers for Raid is already over. The call for Desert Storm should be posted in month or so. Keep checking their web site.

Is it true that rally insurance has to be taken from the same provider as your normal insurance? Mine is Royal Sundaram and they told me just now that they don't do any motor sport related cover.

Who is your insurance provider? I have just 2 months left on the current policy, will just switch to them..

I am using National. Some of the private players do not provide for such cover. The cover is a "add on" so has to be from same insurance company.

National refused. May be it was just that the agent didn't care. I'm moving to Oriental.
