Spent an hour at Jaswant Thada and then proceeded to Umaid Bhavan palace. A grandiose Palace, but found it pretty boring. I guess if you stay there, you might feel different. Had a good collection of Vintage cars on display. Sorry no pics.

Next morning we leave for Jaisalmer. Wifey all excited, coz the primary reason for the Trip was the Golden Fort. I had also planned to spend a night at Sam, a part of the package from Hotel MoonLight.
Pics of Sonar Kella, various hawelis (Patwaon and Salim Singh) and Gadisar Lake follow.

Snaps are very crisp and bright! Very nice. The turbans are a rarity only to be found here!

What an eyes Sirjee; if you would've not told, I would've not observed it too.

EDIT - @DZire2Travel - Lost words to express the feelings on the last few photographs. Awesome, fabulous & fantastic don't even come closer.

Despited being repeated, could not help but to mention the photgraphs are really nice. You have an eye for composition. I liked the cannon shot, the puppets (most people would have taken it straight and make the photo flat), and Gadisar lake photo.

Jaisalmer fort actually looks more golden when setting sun puts its golden hue on it.

Thanks for all the compliments. Whenevr I think I need to replace the S2IS with a 1000D, this old gadget springs a few surprises and I hesitate. Does a DSLR lens indeed produce much better Images compared to the Point and shoots. Please advise. :-|

I had a lot more pics, but in most of them, either ONE or BOTH of us are blocking the view :-)), I dnt think those photos deserve to be in this Forum. I just have a few to go, will try to upload tonight.

Secondly I wasnt a member of this wonderful Portal ( was introduced by 1100D) so kept no Logs and other minute details that every Travelouge writer so meticulously mantains. Darn !!

Next day after breakfast we leave for Bikaner. But i take a 5 km detour, just to take a snap of this Station. The locals and our driver Rawat are bemused, coz this place has nothing spcl for tourists. But for me, I was overjoyed. Any guesses?

Wow wow, the next day you'd a a gala time. Did they arrange the folk dance & tents just for the tourists? Could you shed some more info on that pls? That is something that I like to do atleast, atleast, once in my life time. Just look at the way the tents are being pitched, looks like someone used Autocad before pitching them, amazing.

I could only think you as a devotee to Baba Ramdevji or you love railway stations

Our last Stop Mandawa. Accomodations = Castle Mandawa. Sights to see, the Castle which is now a Heritage Hotel and a few Havelis which belonged to rich traders. Mandawa was a flourishing trade centre at one point of time.
