Hello,

I am not sure if i should start the travelogue before the travel but I am so excited that my long held dream is coming true, i just could not wait to share it with the fellow BHPians.

To start with, we are 3 freinds going on the trip starting on 29th May early morning hours (yet to see) so as to cover maximum distance before the scorching heat.

We have :

1. Royal Enfield Lightning 535s
2. Thunderbird Twinspark
3, Enfield Bullet 350 CI

All of them have K&N free flow, NGK spark plug, Free flow silencers etc. to start with.

Few preparations include :

Knee / Elbow armour set
Motorola Walkie Talkies
VOX headphone for Motorola Walkie Talkie
RR Military Bags
Medical Kit
Thermal kit
Puncture Repair kit
Spare Part kit
& few other necessary / useful accesories (like torch, rope, swiss knife)

I plan to post the pics of all 3 bikes & few of the above material today evening.

Guys please wish us luck & share you experience, so that we have a successful trip!!!:thumbs up

Hopefully i will be able to update this more sooner then later!!!

good luck to all 3 of you ,ride safe:thumbs up

Hey SamtheLeo,
Have a great trip, eagerly waiting for more pics and logs.

Are you guys doing this trip alone (i mean all 3), or you are a group of bikers. Bcoz I remember my friend doing it from bangalore couple of years back same route start from Delhi. They were a team of 50 bikers and it was flagged of by Sunil Shetty.

Anyways drive safe... Enjoy your trip !!! :thumbs up

Sam,
I cannot certainly give you any suggestions as I
a) do not own an Enfield
b) have never driven Delhi-Leh
Just wishing you good luck and ride safe.
We will be eager to see the pics.

Congratulations Sam and all the Best:thumbs up. Enjoy the beauty of Road travel. Drive safe.

Good luck and drive safe.

Guys,
Wish you all the best. Be careful & dont be over courageous.
Drive Safe & let the weather gods bless u. ( Its very important)

@ All : Thanks a lot Guys :) . We know we need loads of this luck to do this journey with out any hiccups. Here are a few photographs of the bikes we are riding.

@ Ranjith : No we prefer to go solo & as it is more fun & hence did not join any group.

Here are the few pics of our rides, hopefully we will make this an intresting journey for all our fellow BHPians

Do not carry walkies unless you are completely licensed for them. You are going to be in border areas and it can spell trouble.

Best of luck for the trip. Continue to post travelogue as things progress.

No panniers in there?

and is it a lightning with a pulsar silencer? :D

@ phamilyman : It is a lightning but not Pulsar silencer, it is a Free flow, custom!!! :D

Hey SamtheLeo, I dont see any carriers in the bike, I hope you are going to tie iup the laguage at the back. Dont carry them on a shoulder bag which might cause you back ache as you guys will be travelling for weeks.

Drive Safe ... :thumbs up

Best of luck guys for the trip. Have a safe ride. But having driven a bullet in that terrain I ahve the following queries:-
1. Where does the luggage go?
2. Do tie it secure and if you are carrying saddlebags then do you ahve racks to stuff the things in?
3. If you are going to tie it around the back seat what rope are you using?
4. What spares are you carrying?
5. Additional fuel?

Hi Hope you have already started as of now.
All the very best for your trip guys.
