Hi Everyone,
I have been sharing my experiences & pictures of my visit to different places in our forum. One of similar thread was
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...nd-kabini.html

where I have shared my experience in Kabini & Kanha.

Last Wed evening, it was raining badly in bangalore & during my discussion on rains with my wife, I remember that its time for different life like the deers, elephants & birds in jungles of Kabini to disappear inside deep forest.
So we just called up JLR & checked the availability and luckily I got confirmed acco for one day i.e. Thursday.
So Thursday morning, equipped with my ever ready camera & lens and definitely the wifey, we started on my Linea towards Kabini. Had a smooth drive except a small issue which cropped while crossing NICE road...Linea dashboard displayed...ABS failure. Called up the regular service engineer of my car & he said it is ok to drive but remember that there will not be any ABS.

So we continued & in 4.5 hrs, I was in JLR, Kabini doing my check-in.
Checked at the reception for possible extension by one more day & thanks to resident manager, he agreed to put me into their reserve rooms which they generally keep it for the VIPs & Forest officials.

We had Interesting visit to Kabini. For the first time, did a boat safari, saw a Monitor Lizard, chased by a big wild Tusker and ended the last safari with a 10 min meeting with Ms. Leopard & 30 sec discussion with Mr. Tiger.

Couldn't take picture of Mr. Tiger but enjoyed his auro.

So after two days of complete enjoyment of 3 Jeep Safari & 1 boat safari, we were back in Bangalore on Sat night.

Posting some pics taken:

Fantastic photos! :thumbs up
In the first photos, I was wondering why it is not cropped tighter and then I noticed the second woodpecker!
Are you aware of the names of the birds?

PS : I am not going to ask what camera do you use, because its not the camera, but the photographer that makes the difference.

Beautifull pictures, and very nicely captioned, waiting for the rest to follow.

Regards

Monitor lizard snap is really good. were you on foot or in your jeep ?

Great snaps, but wonder that you didn't find mr. Tiger this time.

Amazing pics as always Vinay. Waiting for more :)

Vinay would have lost count of his Kabini trips, no wonder the elephant is saluting you, by now they know you by name.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for appreciating. will post the next lot soon.

@SDP - Well, I was told by Naturalist that it is called a Huppu....I am trying to find the correct name of it...Will definitely let u know.

@narendra.vw - Well, I was on Jeep.

@ampere - Not sure whether it is same as Goira. Seeing a Monitor Lizard was a first time for me. I was told by naturalist that it can climb wall like a normal lizard even with its weight.

@samish_g - I am using a Canon 400D and lens was 70-200 f2.8

@Jayabusa - Well, I don;t exact name of this lizard but as much I know Komodo dragon is also part of Monitor Lizard family.

@asdon - I had a brief meeting with Mr. Tiger, just for 30 sec. Couldn't take pics as it was in bushes. but enjoyed its aura. Still remember those eyes.

Again nice pictures there Vinay. Eagle landing is super.

I'm a fan of your wildlife photos but somehow I didnt like the bright bordering done on the photos, it kills the natural look.
