Guys I am all safe and sound and reached home on sunday after a hectic drive of 20 hours from Indore to pune. Sorry I could not keep my promise of keeping this thread live, but yes more pics and details to come.

Welcome back Vasooli Anna. But I'm surprised as to why Indore to Pune took 20 hours for you. And we are thinking of a tapri meet this sunday. Would love to have you over.

Keep us updated on the food also.... On my trip to Surat (from Pune) tasted some of the yummiest delicacies. We were once served "Pudina Chai" - absolutely lip smacking flavour!! Surtis are known for their quality food and 'kathiavar' hospitality has to be experienced to be believed.

Liked all the people in your pictures - nice touch, if I may say so! Especially the school girl on the bicycle - she has fingers wrapped on both the brakes, a la a seasoned biker!!

I second that about Kathiawad hospitality. Way back in early 2000, I went to a hotel in Veraval. My hindi was ok, but I knew nothing of Gujarati. I found the food too sweet and wanted them to make them a bit theeka.
I used to go there everyday to eat and after a week, I thought I'd impress the owner by speaking some Gujarati I picked.
When I asked them in Gujarati to get me some water, the waiter came over and replied in Tamil to me.
I was amazed. The owner of the restaurant had earmarked a waiter for me and asked him to learn some simple tamil words to make me feel at home!
Where else do you go to find true meaning of customer is god? Gandhi's own land!

Thanks for all the comments, here is my short and sweet dose of the day....

After a hectic ride to Jaipur, we were greeted at hotel Ramada, what fantastic hotel it is. Since we were tired, we decided to to take a dinner in the hotel itself.

Ramada has three restaurants, roof top barbeque, Tulasi pure veg where they serve Rajasthani Thali in silver cutleries and Around the world multi - cuisine.

We went to Tulsi and ordered ala carte, famous rajasthani gatte ki sabji, rice, tawa rotis and tastiest ever i had Maa ki Daal (Daal Makhani)

Man. Honest, reading about the food and seeing the photos, had me literally drooling. Just had to clean my keyboard now. :D

thanks for the Ramada pics and not so much for the Gatte kee sabzi !! I simply miss it out here. How was the Indore Pune route? Road conditions and timings ( 20 hrs !!)

From Ramada website I see that the room tariff starts from Rs 10000 ?

But the picture provided it to be worthy.... :)

The pics are so yummy that I can imagine the taste of food. The pics of the entire route are excellent dude. And Iam amazed about you touching 200KMPH!! Drive safe and take care. Awaiting more pics from you:)
